Abstract Introduction Bisphosphonates are important and effective drugs in oncology and osteoporosis therapy. They accumulate in the bone matrix becoming released and active by bone resorption. This leads to effective inhibition of tumor cells and bone degradation. A side effect of bisphosphonates similar to other drugs like denosumab is osteonecrosis of the jaws (ONJ). Variation in the Sizes of Chthamalid Barnacle Post-Settlement Cyprids on European Shores

As part of a wider study on the settlement and recruitment of Chthamalus spp. in Europe, this study investigated whether chthamalid cyprids can be separated by length on a European scale. Variation in cyprid length with latitude and temporal variation at selected localities were also examined. The lengths of cyprids collected between 1996-1999 on nine rocky shores in Europe are reported. Elminius modestus cyprids were found only at Roscoff, NW France and could be distinguished due to their Carapace shape and length. Intraparty preference voting systems offer different incentives for candidates to cultivate a personal vote, but little is known about how the candidates' policy positions affect their elec-toral success in intraparty competition. This article analyses the effect of candidates' ideological positions and personal attributes on their preference vote share in the 2015 and 2019 Swiss Lower House elections. We used candidate survey data combined with official election statistics.
