When referring to migrants, the collective representation sees them as recipients of services offered by the third sector and not, in the first instance, as actors actively engaged in associative processes. Addressing the issue of the relationship between migrants and the third sector implies, therefore, proposing a change of perspective that leads to think of migrants (also this rather wide category) not as direct beneficiaries, as victims in need, but as protagonists actively engaged in the institutions or as collaborators, experts, employees, therefore paid, or as volunteers, free of charge.

Following the idea of tourist development Favignana island is nowaday subject to great housing transformations consisting in new hotels, residences, restoring projects of the ancient dockyards and tunny-fishing grounds in order to their re-use; there is also the widening project of the harbour for pleasure crafts that should settle in the shore actually aimed as seaside between Lido Mineo and Punta Faraglione. Il presente contributo analizza, a partire dall'opera pittorica di Mario Samonà, le condizioni di possibilità della rappresentazione estetica della deportazione. Tale analisi consente una riflessione sulla peculiare forma di contemporaneità al proprio tempo costituita dall'esperienza della testimonianza, intesa sia come forma espressiva, sia come forma di pensiero.

In 1993 a famous article by Raymond Duval highlighted a simple fact: students confuse the mathematical object O, that they are trying to build cognitively, with one of its semiotic representations R(O); he explained that this confusion was due to a sort of inevitable paradox: only someone who has already built O, can recognize R(O) as a representation of O and not as an object in itself. This idea has been extremely influential for researchers in the following years. However, many scholars of semiotics have emphasized the same phenomenon, even if in not quite the same words; in this paper we are going to mention some of them.
