A petrographic characterization has been used here, for the first time, in the study of lithic raw materials exploited in prehistoric Sicily. Our research interests one of the oldest archaeological sites with evidence of the early human peopling of the island (∼15kyr ago): San Teodoro Cave, in northeastern Sicily. Two geological Formations, Numidian and Monte Soro Flysch gave origin to well-rounded pebbly quartzite elements scattered in the marine terraces surrounding the cave and likely exploited as one of the sources of the raw materials for the production of lithic tools by the Epigravettian communities having settled the place. I frammenti 42, 55 e 60 Müller di Eunapio di Sardi offrono una ricostruzione dei rapporti romano-barbarici lungo il limes danubiano nel 376 ed in età teodosiana, che predilige la lettura etica rispetto a quella sociale. Improntando ai concetti di slealtà ed ingratitudine la rappresentazione dei Goti, Eunapio attribuisce ai barbari un progetto originario di conquista dell’impero, concepito a seguito della politica imperiale di insediamento di tribù barbariche entro i confini agevolato dalla strumentale ed insincera professione di fede cristiana. Rispetto a tale quadro la fedeltà di Fravitta, coniugata al suo sincero rispetto per i culti tradizionali, incarna la voce di una minoranza.

The aim of this paper is to illustrate the preliminary results of research (intrasite survey and excavation) carried out from 2013 to 2017 in the fortified settlement of Terravecchia di Cuti. The intrasite survey allowed to select the excavation area. Some walls, part of two distinct buildings, have been identified: the most interesting structure is a large room, perhaps a courtyard, around which there are at least three rooms. Remains of pithoi are in the rooms, and two on the courtyard floor. L'articolo affronta la lettura dell'opera di Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio(Milano 1571 - Porto Ercole 1610), per analizzarne il linguaggio artistico oltre la Natura come unico riferimento, al fine di sottolineare che i noti caratteri d'"immediatezza" e di "verità" della sua pittura scaturirono da una sintesi tra il riscontro diretto sul naturale, il dettato esistenziale e l'elaborazione concettuale.
