Summary Protease activity has been measured in the animal and vegetal half of the blastula and in the dorsal and ventral regions of the early gastrula of Discoglossus pictus. A higher protease activity was found in the dorsal region of the early gastrula, where presumptive chordamesoderm and presumptive neuroectoderm are localized.

The ARX (Aristaless-related (X-linked) homeobox) gene is not only present in arthropods and their ancestors, but also in vertebrates including humans (ARX orthologs). The gene is composed of 5 coding exons and it is expressed predominantly in foetal and adult brain and skeletal muscle. In this review we report on our experience and review the existing literature on the genotype and phenotype heterogeneity associated with ARX abnormalities in humans ranging from severe neuronal migration defects (e.g., lissencephaly), to mild forms of X-linked mental retardation without apparent brain abnormalities. Šis bakalaura darbs mērķis ir izpētīt, kā Metjū Arnolda dzejolis “Duvras Pludmale” strādā kā interteksts Iana Makjuana romānam “Sestdiena”. Educational research places emphasis on the fact that individuals who have experienced repeated failures may develop an attribution profile characterized by a bias towards primarily external causes. The aim of this study is to compare the attribution style of adolescents with Down's syndrome with that of normal children and adolescents matched for mental and chronological age; three groups consisting of 10 participants each were employed, an experimental group and two control groups were employed. Pētījuma mērķis bija noskaidrot vai pastāv saistība starp bērnībā piedzīvotas emocionālas un fiziskas vardarbības pieredzi, dusmām, agresiju un uztverto stresu, un kādas ir šo saistību dzimuma atšķirības. Pētījumā piedalījās 283 respondenti (207 sievietes, 76 vīrieši) vecumā no 20 - 50 gadiem. Micellization properties of cardanol as a renewable co-surfactant

With the aim to improve the features of surfactant solutions in terms of sustainability and renewability we propose the use of hydrogenated natural and sustainable plant-derived cardanol as an additive to com- mercial surfactants. In the present study we demonstrated that its addition, in amounts as high as 10%, to commercial surfactants of different charge does not significantly affect surfactant properties. Conversely, the presence of hydrogenated cardanol can strongly affect spectrophotometric determination of CMC if preferential interactions with the dyes used take place.
