The Semantic Web is a Web of Data. To fulfill this web with data we need methods how to transfer business data from existing relational databases. In most cases, textual mapping languages are used for the specification of correspondences between relational DB schema and OWL ontology. RDF* Graph Database as Interlingua for the TextWorld Challenge

This paper briefly describes the top-scoring submission to the First TextWorld Problems: A Reinforcement and Language Learning Challenge. To alleviate the partial observability problem, characteristic to the TextWorld games, we split the Agent into two independent components: Observer and Actor, communicating only via the Interlingua of the RDF* graph database. Knowledge Representation on the Web Revisited: The Case for Prototypes

Recently, RDF and OWL have become the most common knowledge representation languages in use on the Web, propelled by the recommendation of the W3C. In this paper we examine an alternative way to represent knowledge based on Prototypes. This Prototype-based representation has different properties, which we argue to be more suitable for data sharing and reuse on the Web. Prototypes avoid the distinction between classes and instances and provide a means for object-based data sharing and reuse.

Exposure to mercury among Spanish preschool children: Trend from birth to age four

The purpose of this study is to describe the total hair mercury concentrations and their determinants in preschool Spanish children, as well as to explore the trend in mercury exposure from birth to the age four. This evolution has been scarcely studied in other birth cohort studies. The study population was 580 four year old children participating in the INMA (i.e. Childhood and Environment) birth cohort study in Valencia (2008–2009). Mūsdienās ir aizvien vairāk gadījumu kad ir vajadzība strādāt ar datu bāzēm, pat ja lietotājs nav ļoti izglītots programmēšanā. Grafiskie vaicājumu veidošanas rīki var atvieglot vaicājumu formēšanas darbu. Viens no vizuālo vaicājumu rīkiem pār semantiskajām (RDF) datubāzēm ir ViziQuer, kas darbojas tīmekļa pārlūkā. Ir redzams, ka vizuālais vaicājumu noformējums var palīdzēt vaicājumu lasīšanā, taču lai atvieglotu arī vaicājumu formēšanu, ir nepieciešama arī gala lietotājam ērta vaicājumu veidošanas saskarne.
