Health Education at La Ribera Universitary Hospital

This paper describes the potential of learning platforms offering at the La Ribera Health Department. More than 100 activities have been designed and at least 5000 users have been participating. The paper concludes, first, that there are important factors to achieve a successful implementation of such elearning project. In second place it remarks that elearning platform can be used for other support activities rather than only online courses. Finally, the study emphasizes that training in electronic medical record of our professionals is a key element of hospital business.

A Wireless Acoustic Array System for Binaural Loudness Evaluation in Cities

Networks of acoustic sensors are being deployed in smart cities to continuously monitor noise levels. In this paper, a novel acoustic sensor device is designed for binaural loudness evaluation, in a standalone platform. The audio is acquired from an array of microphones and a binaural signal is synthesized by a direction-of-arrival algorithm and a head-related transfer function. Hardware setup and software algorithms are presented and the results are discussed. Finally, the tests conducted in an early deployment show the feasibility of using the device to carry out large temporal and spatial sampling for the evaluation of binaural loudness.

Trying to replicate a normal search that any user/patient could do in YouTube, the objective of this study was to evaluate the quality of YouTube videos related to home exercises during lockdown and their adherence to World Health Organization (WHO) recommendations. Survival analysis is a classic palaeobiological method widely used on the animal fossil record. This study reports the first application of survivorship analyses on the plant fossil record from a global viewpoint and provides a new comparative approach of this methodology.
