22nd Colloquium on High Resolution Molecular Spectroscopy: Special Issue dedicated to Gianfranco Di Lonardo
2011
This issue, together with a second issue to appear in early 2012, consists of contributions submitted by participants attending the Colloquium on High Resolution Molecular Spectroscopy (HRMS), held in Dijon, France from 29 August to 2 September 2011. This is the 22nd in a biannual series of international conferences, which in recent years have taken place alternately in Dijon, France (1999, 2003, 2007, 2011) and in another European Country (1997 in Glasgow, Scotland; 2001 in Nijmegen, The Netherlands; 2005 in Salamanca, Spain, 2009 in Castellammare di Stabia, Italy). This series has a longstanding tradition as one of the most important conferences worldwide on all aspects of high resolution…
Experimental and theoretical study of line mixing in methane spectra. III. The Q branch of the Raman nu(1) band
2000
International audience; The shape of the nu(1) Raman Q branch of CH4 perturbed by Ar and He at room temperature has been studied. Stimulated Raman spectroscopy (SRS) experiments have been made in the 2915-2918 cm(-1) spectral region for total pressures from 0.4 to 70 atm and mixtures of approximate to 5% CH4 with He and Ar. Analysis of the spectra demonstrates that the shape of the Q branch is significantly influenced by line mixing and much narrower than what is predicted by the addition of individual line profiles. For the first time, a model is proposed for the calculation and analysis of the effects of collisions on the considered spectra. In this approach, the rotational part of the re…
Risk of Low Energy Availability, Disordered Eating, Exercise Addiction, and Food Intolerances in Female Endurance Athletes
2022
Relative energy deficiency in sport (RED-S) is a complex syndrome describing health and performance consequences of low energy availability (LEA) and is common among female endurance athletes. Various underlying causes of LEA have been reported, including disordered eating behavior (DE), but studies investigating the association with exercise addiction and food intolerances are lacking. Therefore, the aim of this cross-sectional study was to investigate the association between DE, exercise addiction and food intolerances in athletes at risk of LEA compared to those with low risk. Female endurance athletes, 18–35 years, training ≥5 times/week were recruited in Norway, Sweden, Ireland, and Ge…
Enerģijas pieejamība un relatīvā enerģijas deficīta sportā (RED-S) riska novērtējums estētisko un komandu sporta veidu pārstāvēm
2022
Body Composition, Energy Availability, Training, and Menstrual Status in Female Runners.
2020
Purpose: To determine body composition, energy availability, training load, and menstrual status in young elite endurance running athletes (ATH) over 1 year, and in a secondary analysis, to investigate how these factors differ between nonrunning controls (CON), and amenorrheic (AME) and eumenorrheic (EUM) ATH. Correlations to injury, illness, and performance were also examined. Methods: Altogether 13 ATH and 8 CON completed the Low Energy Availability in Females Questionnaire. Anthropometric, energy intake, and peak oxygen uptake assessments were made at 4 time points throughout the year: at baseline post competition season, post general preparation, post specific preparation, and post comp…
Dietary Intake, Serum Hormone Concentrations, Amenorrhea and Bone Mineral Density of Physique Athletes and Active Gym Enthusiasts
2023
As the diet, hormones, amenorrhea, and bone mineral density (BMD) of physique athletes (PA) and gym enthusiasts (GE) are little-explored, we studied those in 69 females (50 PA, 19 GE) and 20 males (11 PA, 9 GE). Energy availability (EA, kcal·kgFFM−1·d−1 in DXA) in female and male PA was ~41.3 and ~37.2, and in GE ~39.4 and ~35.3, respectively. Low EA (LEA) was found in 10% and 26% of female PA and GE, respectively, and in 11% of male GE. In PA, daily protein intake (g/kg body mass) was ~2.9–3.0, whereas carbohydrate and fat intakes were ~3.6–4.3 and ~0.8–1.0, respectively. PA had higher protein and carbohydrate and lower fat intakes than GE (p <…
