The application of diode laser in the treatment of oral soft tissues lesions. A literature review

Background Since its appearance in the dental area, the laser has become a treatment of choice in the removal of lesions in the oral soft tissues, due to the numerous advantages they offer, being one of the most used currently the diode laser. Anxiety reduction with music and tempo synchronization on magnetic resonance imaging patients

Anxiety and claustrophobic reactions in MRI examinations cause unintentional movements, and such motion artifacts lead to interpretation problems. Furthermore, requested anesthesia makes the process costly. A total of 60 outpatients were examined in the Diagnostic Centre of Pécs, Hungary, to test whether synchronizing recorded music to the gradient pulsation of the MRI device can improve the sedative effect of the music. The patients were assigned to three groups: a nonmusic (control), an original tempo (random) and a synchronized music (synchronous) group. Hyperstoichiometric interaction between silver and mercury at the nanoscale.

Breaking through the stoichiometry barrier: As the diameter of silver particles is decreased below a critical size of 32?nm, the molar ratio of aqueous HgII to Ag0 drastically increases beyond the conventional Hg/Ag ratio of 0.5:1, leading to hyperstoichiometry with a maximum ratio of 1.125:1 (see figure). Therein, around 99?% of the initial silver is retained to rapidly form a solid amalgam with reduced mercury.

Chemoselective, Substrate-directed Fluorination of Functionalized Cyclopentane β-Amino Acids

This work describes a substrate-directed fluorination of some highly functionalized cyclopentane derivatives. The cyclic products incorporating CH2 F or CHF2 moieties in their structure have been synthesized from diexo- or diendo-norbornene β-amino acids following a stereocontrolled strategy. The synthetic study was based on an oxidative transformation of the ring carbon-carbon double bond of the norbornene β-amino acids, followed by transformation of the resulted "all cis" and "trans" diformyl intermediates by fluorination with "chemodifferentiation".

However, these studies do not take into account changes in bone size, which influence BMD in the case of short-statured patients. Cementless total hip replacement with subtrochanteric femoral shortening for severe developmental dysplasia of the hip.

Total joint replacement in patients suffering from developmental dysplasia of the hip poses specific technical difficulties due to insufficient bone stock at the site of the original and secondary acetabulum and a narrow, cranially displaced proximal femur. Twelve hips with severe congenital dislocation (4 Crowe type II, 5 type III, 3 type IV) were treated with cementless, porous structured total hip replacement. The cup was implanted at the anatomic height, a femoral segment was resected below the minor trochanter to reduce the femoral component in all cases.
