Selective writing and read-out of a register of static qubits

We propose a setup comprising an arbitrarily large array of static qubits (SQs), which interact with a flying qubit (FQ). The SQs work as a quantum register, which can be written or read-out by means of the FQ through quantum state transfer (QST). The entire system, including the FQ's motional degrees of freedom, behaves quantum mechanically. We demonstrate a strategy allowing for selective QST between the FQ and a single SQ chosen from the register. This is achieved through a perfect mirror located beyond the SQs and suitable modulation of the inter-SQ distances.

Controlling Atom-Photon Bound States in an Array of Josephson-Junction Resonators

Engineering the electromagnetic environment of a quantum emitter gives rise to a plethora of exotic light -matter interactions. In particular, photonic lattices can seed long-lived atom-photon bound states inside photonic band gaps. Here, we report on the concept and implementation of a novel microwave architecture consisting of an array of compact superconducting resonators in which we have embedded two frequency -tunable artificial atoms. We study the atom-field interaction and access previously unexplored coupling regimes, in both the single-and double-excitation subspace. Treść artykułu dotyczy problematyki regulacji przestępstwa obcowania płciowego z małoletnim z art. 200 § 1 Kodeksu karnego. W tym zakresie stwierdzono pewną niepełność w aktualnej regulacji, identyfikując ją oraz podając rozwiązanie w postaci propozycji, tj. znowelizowania art. 200 k.k. przez dodanie do niego § 2, który opisywałby to przestępstwo w ramach quasi-typu uprzywilejowanego jako wypadek mniejszej wagi. Sformułowanie niniejszego rozwiązania stanowi ocenę aktualnego stanu prawnego przez zwrócenie uwagi na potrzebę zmiany uregulowania prawnego w tym zakresie

Experimental Engineering of Arbitrary Qudit States with Discrete-Time Quantum Walks

The capability to generate and manipulate quantum states in high-dimensional Hilbert spaces is a crucial step for the development of quantum technologies, from quantum communication to quantum computation. One-dimensional quantum walk dynamics represents a valid tool in the task of engineering arbitrary quantum states. Small fish in big ponds : Connections of green finance assets to commodity and sectoral stock markets

We analyze return and volatility connectedness of the rising green asset and the well-established US industry stock and commodity markets from September 2010 to July 2021. We find that the time-varying return and volatility connectedness have exhibited serious crisis jumps. Some individual assets of both the green and commodity markets are in connection to the US sectoral stock market returns, and the volatility connections are even more common than the return connections. Supervised classification covers a number of data mining methods based on training data. These methods have been successfully applied to solve multi-criteria complex classification problems in many domains, including economical issues. In this paper we discuss features of some supervised classification methods based on decision trees and apply them to the direct marketing campaigns data of a Portuguese banking institution. We discuss and compare the following classification methods: decision trees, bagging, boosting, and random forests.
