Abstract Objectives Currently louse-borne relapsing fever (LBRF) is primarily found in limited endemic foci in Ethiopia, Somalia and Sudan; no case of imported LBRF has been reported in Europe in the 9 years prior to 2015. Ortokeratoloģijas ietekme uz acs garuma un refrakcijas izmaiņām bērniem ar miopiju

Darbs uzrakstīts angļu valodā uz 68 lapaspusēm, satur 17 attēlus, 10 tabulas un 73 literatūras atsauces. Darba mērķis bija salīdzināt acu aksiālā garuma un refrakcijas izmaiņas divām grupām tuvredzīgo jauniešu. Vienai grupai tuvredzība tika koriģēta ar ortokeratoloģiskajām kontaktlēcām (OK), bet otrajai ar brillēm. Pēc 18 mēnešiem tuvredzīgo pacientu grupai koriģētai ar brillēm acs aksiālais garums vidēji palielinājās par 0,20 mm, turpretī pacientiem koriģētiem ar OK kontaktlēcām tas bija tikai 0,05 mm. Almodóvar's Los abrazos rotos explores the possibilities of cinema to represent the holy contents of the myth. According to two modes of its expression (reflection and the unseen), we can see the implementation of a blunt myth. The myth is attenuated in its produced or spectacular content, with a focus on the symbol and on minesis. The myth reveals but it does not exhibit itself. It seems that the transcendent could be represented using the irony of those who proves the innuendo. The myth is given through the blindness which denies mimesis and shows its more peculiar contents in a blunted way.

Media diversification and information superhighways that have become faster and faster have boosted the circulation of economic terms in the popular press, along with the interaction between editorial contents targeted at the general population, which are similar in nature. This twin phenomenon of circulation and interaction was highlighted in a contrastive study of the way the German and the French press managed the euro crisis between 2011 and 2013: articles devoted to the debt of countries that are going through hard economic times require expert knowledge, but also resort to popularization strategies that show multi-level interdiscursivity.
Enterprising refugee women: Analyzing postfeminist governmentality in an organizational context

This study examines a model project initiated by a German Federal Ministry in the middle of the vast increase in forced migration to Germany after 2015. The project aimed at facilitating the integration of female refugees into German society by way of ‘empowering’ them to become self-employed. A business counseling agency with a feminist orientation was commissioned to design and run the project. Interpellating refugee women as subjects of entrepreneurial self-actualization to enact gender equality, the project embodies a tangible example of postfeminist governmentality. Abstract Background To investigate whether physical performance is independently of physical activity (PA) associated with positive and negative dimensions of mental well-being in middle-aged women. Methods Data were drawn from the Estrogenic Regulation of Muscle Apoptosis (ERMA) study in which women 47 to 55 years were randomly selected from the Finnish National Registry. W artykule przedstawię dwie funkcjonujące dzisiaj obok siebie diagnozy polskiej współczesności. Jedna to separatystyczna, podkreślająca rozłam, bez nadziei na zgodę wizja dwóch odmiennych, zwaśnionych plemion, różniących się stosunkiem do przeszłości i historii. Historia i pamięć są tutaj kryterium podziału. Druga wizja zakłada możliwość porozumienia się, wskazując na relacyjny, oparty na potrzebie uznania charakter obecnego konfliktu. Pamięć nie jest tutaj narzędziem podziału, ale dobrem i wartością wspólną, a szansą na porozumienie się są relacje uznania.

In the article, I present two currently co-functioning diagnoses of Polish modernity. One is separatist, emphasizing the division, without hope of consent – a vision of two conflicted tribes, differing in their attitude to the past and history. The second vision assumes the possibility of communication, pointing to the relational character of the current conflict, which is based on the need for recognition. Remembrance is not a dividing instrument here, but a common good and value, and the chance for communication is the relationship of recognition.
