Challenge types in gaming validation of video game challenge inventory (CHA)

Challenge is a key motivation for videogame play. But what kind of challenge types videogames include, and which of them players prefer? This article helps to answer the above questions by developing and validating Videogame Challenge Inventory (CHA), a psychometrically sound measurement for investigating players’ challenge preferences in videogames. Based on a review of literature, we developed a 38-item version of CHA that was included in a social media user survey (N = 813). Pyrolytic behavior of lignocellulosic-based polysaccharides

The thermochemical behavior of cellulose, glucomannan, and xylan was investigated by pyrolysis–gas chromatographymass spectrometry (Py-GC/MS). In each case, major GC-amenable condensable products were classified into several compound groups, and the formation of these monomer-related fragments from the model substance samples was determined at 500, 600, and 700 C with a residence time of 5 s and 20 s. The results revealed that despite some general formation trends, no compound group was selectively formed at certain temperatures. Superconducting tunnel junction fabrication on three-dimensional topography based on direct laser writing

Superconducting junctions are widely used in a multitude of applications ranging from quantum information science and sensing to solidstate cooling. Traditionally, such devices must be fabricated on flat substrates using standard lithographic techniques. In this study, we demonstrate a highly versatile method that allows for superconducting junctions to be fabricated on a more complex topography. It is based on maskless direct laser writing and two-photon lithography, which allows writing in 3D space. In the debates on deliberative democracy it’s a common idea that the defenders of this theory argue for the direct participation of the citizens in the political issues and for the transformation of our current representative devices. However, in this work I argue that this conception is misguided, and that it’s the minority who defends the direct participation. The majority of the writers acknowledges the necessity of a representative device, although based on different premises to the liberal system. Redzes asuma, refrakcijas un radzenes biezuma izmaiņas dažādās keratokonusa stadijās pēc kroslinkinga operācijas

Bakalaura darbs ir uzrakstīts latviešu valodā uz 26 lappusēm, satur 16 attēlus, 4 tabulas un atsauces uz 28 literatūras avotiem. Mērķis: analizēt kroslinkinga rezultātus dažādās keratokonusa stadijās. Metode: noteikt labāko iespējamo koriģēto refrakcijas korekciju, nekoriģēto redzes asumu un radzenes biezumu. Rezultāti: statistiski nozīmīga atšķirība ir I pakāpes keratokonusa pacientu nekoriģētajam redzes asumam (P=0,029), visu pacientu vidējām pahimetrijas izmaiņām (P=0,004), I pakāpes pacientu sfēriskā ekvivalenta izmaiņām (P=0,045).
