IL DECRETO-LEGGE N. 162/2022 E LA RIFORMA DEL REGIME OSTATIVO DI CUI ALL’ART. 4 BIS ORD. PENIT.
2022
The paper analyses the reform of the ostative prison regime introduced by Decree-Law No. 162/2022 and indicates its strengths and weaknesses, even in the light of the amendments to the conversion Bill recently approved in the Senate.
International executives : transformative bureaucracies or Westphalian orders?
2004
Public Administration is in an era of change. This paper studies one under-researched part of public administration, the executive arms of International Governmental Organizations (IGOs). These are referred to as International Executives (IEs) and provide a conceptual mapping and empirical illustrations of three important dynamics of IEs – intergovernmental, supranational and transgovernmental dynamics. The paper offers a middle-range organization theory perspective that suggests five independent variables that affect the behavior and roles of IE civil servants. The variables are (i) the organizational properties of IEs, (ii) the degrees of institutionalization of IEs, (iii) the recruitment…

The variation of the law applicable to the family property regime in EU regulations n. 2016/1103 and 1104
2021
The essay examines the discipline of EU regulations n. 2016/1103 and 1104 concerning the identification of the law applicable to the family property regime. Specifically, the work reflects on problems arising after a change, during the relationship, of the substantial law applicable to the couple?s property regime.
Laser fluence, repetition rate and pulse duration effects on paint ablation
2006
Abstract The efficiency (mm3/(J pulse)) of laser ablation of paint was investigated with nanosecond pulsed Nd:YAG lasers (λ = 532 nm) as a function of the following laser beam parameters: pulse repetition rate (1–10,000 Hz), laser fluence (0.1–5 J/cm2) and pulse duration (5 ns and 100 ns). In our study, the best ablation efficiency (η ≅ 0.3 mm3/J) was obtained with the highest repetition rate (10 kHz) at the fluence F = 1.5 J/cm2. This ablation efficiency can be associated with heat accumulation at high repetition rate, which leads to the ablation threshold decrease. Despite the low thermal diffusivity and the low optical absorption of the paint (thermal confinement regime), the ablation th…
Latina e Valdelacalzada: sviluppi recenti e trasformazioni necessarie per un rinnovato rapporto tra paesaggio urbano e rurale
2020
This article gathers some reflections and suggestions that have been carried out throughout the workshop “Arquitectura construida y espacio habitado en los poblados de colonizatión de Italia y España” held in Palermo between the 21st and 22nd January 2020. The case studies that are here analysed and compared are Latina (ancient Littoria), in the Lazio region, Italy, and Valdelacalzada, in the Extremadura region, Spain. The two cities have in common the fundamental cross-shape relationship that characterises their primary urban foundation. Furthermore, both have been conceived and built under totalitarian regimes: Franco’s in Spain and Mussolini’s in Italy. Also, the reasons for their founda…
Reliģiski-filozofiski raksti, XXIII
2017
Religious-philosophical writings XXIII are devoted to the international conference “The Church and the Totalitarian Regime: Secularization and Strategies of Survival”. This conference was organised by the researchers of the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology of the University of Latvia within the framework of the project of the Latvian Council of Science “Thematization of Religious Experience in the Situation of Post-Liberal Spirituality: Latvian Case”. The conference took place in Riga on the 27th–28th of October 2016. The conference discussed the following issues: Church-power relations in a totalitarian state; politics and legislation in the field of religion; administrative control i…
Parametric sensitivity of a CFD model concerning the hydrodynamics of trickle-bed reactor (TBR)
2016
Abstract The aim of the present study was to investigate the sensitivity of a multiphase Eulerian CFD model with respect to relations defining drag forces between phases. The mean relative error as well as standard deviation of experimental and computed values of pressure gradient and average liquid holdup were used as validation criteria of the model. Comparative basis for simulations was our own data-base obtained in experiments carried out in a TBR operating at a co-current downward gas and liquid flow. Estimated errors showed that the classical equations of Attou et al. (1999) defining the friction factors Fjk approximate experimental values of hydrodynamic parameters with the best agre…
Age of Information Based URLLC-enabled UAV Wireless Communications System
2022
This paper considers an unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) communication network, where UAV operate as an aerial mobile relay between a source and a destination of the network. To capture the “timelines” of the received information at the destination node, a new performance metric named age of information (AoI) is considered. In addition, a short packet communication scheme maintains low latency in the proposed UAV wireless communication system. The finite block-length theory investigates the performances of short packet communications scheme in the UAV-assisted wireless communications system. In this paper, the Average Age of Information (AAoI) is estimated by applying the Stochastic Hybrid Sy…
