Thirty cases of rupture of the ulnar-collateral Iigament of metacarpal phalangeal joint of the thumb (Stener's lesion) are reported. The biomecanics of this ligament and the mechanisms of its rupture as well as the most frequent anatomopatologic types are described. The importance of the surgical treatment and sorne details of its technique are emphasized.

We present a case of a healthy 52-year-old man who came to our clinic because he suffered fatigue in the upper left limb during the past 4 months. Total knee arthroplasty is the treatment of choice in patients with osteoarthritis. This intervention not only replaces the damaged joint surfaces, even it can correct misalignments of the axes of the femur and tibia. However, there are situations in which the misalignments are so severe, and also, affect not only the epiphysis, even the entire femur and / or tibia, which require corrective surgeries of such misalignments. We present a case of a patient with hypophosphatemic rickets with realignment osteotomies to achieve a mechanical normo-axis that prevents the failure of the arthroplasty.

Arguably one of the most pronounced innovations in the field of footwear design is the introduction of unstable shoe construction (USC), over the last few decades. Most widely investigated shoes are the Masai Barefoot Technology (MBT) shoes.
