A framework to induce self-regulation through a metacognitive tutor

2010

A new architectural framework for a metacognitive tutoring system is presented that is aimed to stimulate self regulatory behavior in the learner. The new framework extends the cognitive architecture of TutorJ that has been already proposed by some of the authors. TutorJ relies mainly on dialogic interaction with the user, and makes use of a statistical dialogue planner implemented through a Partially Observable Markov Decision Process (POMDP). A suitable two-level structure has been designed for the statistical reasoner to cope with measuring and stimulating metacognitive skills in the user. Suitable actions have been designed to this purpose starting from the analysis of the main question…

Le professioni di agente sportivo e avvocato: reviviscenza dei profili di incompatibilità

2019

This article addresses the issue of the incompatibility between the activity of sports agent and that of lawyer in the light of the new regulation on the sports agent introduced by art. 1, par. 373, of the statute 205/2017. This question appeared, if not completely resolved, at least attenuated following the opinion expressed by the National Bar Council (17 July 2015) according to which, in the absence of a legislative regulation referring the activity of sports agent to a specific profession, the exercise of this activity by the lawyer should be authorized without the need of registration in the relevant register kept by the FIGC. The above mentioned question is re-proposed today to the at…

Frazionamento della filiera produttiva e regole del contratto

2019

In order to adopt a new perspective when discussing contract law in the digital age, the following essay analyses the general topic of the fragmentation of the production in the light of three case studies: Google Nest thermostat, crowd- funding and robo-advisors. The three cases are considered relevant for the matter due to the fact that they all exercises the same disrupting power on their supply chain: if, indeed, part of the products and services of their supply chain have been long offered by one or few providers, now the same products and services are real- ized by an indefinite number of players horizontally spread over the market. Do common constitutional traditions matter in the field of regulated markets?

2019

A new tension is spreading throughout Europe: the tension between Common Constitutional Traditions (CCTS) and Constitutional Identity (CI). Recent cases brought before the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU), which have gone to the core of European Integration, have revealed this tension. In particular, this tension was highlighted in the “Taricco saga” and in the more recent cases concerning the independence of the judiciary in Poland. The rulings concerning the first group of cases use the concept of CCTS in a quite conventional way, that is, with regard to fundamental rights. The essay examines the possibility that the complex relationship between the CCTS and CI will affect ot…
