The article is a synthetic essay that exposes the main theoretical lines of the postmarxist approach of Laclau and Mouffe, on the one hand, and the autonomist post-operaism of Negri, Hardt, Virno, etc., on the other hand. How to criticize without ever becoming a critic

The chapter elucidates the disposition of the critical IR scholar by exploring the resonances between the political subject and the figure of the critic. While the critical disposition is often contrasted with proper politics as overly negative and devoid of constructive effects, I argue that political praxis and critical activity share a similar modus operandi in overcoming exclusions, overturning hierarchies and abolishing restrictions in a given world. Structural parameters, originating from x-ray crystallographic data, have been compiled for 13 derivatives of amino acids, peptides and related compounds, which contain a total of 14 Fmoc-NH- moieties. For these moieties, molecular geometries and conformations--described by the omegao, theta1, theta2 and theta3' torsion angles--were analysed and compared with the corresponding parameters for the Z-NH- and Boc-NH-moieties (290 and 553, respectively). To gain a deeper insight into the conformational features of the Fmoc-NH- moiety, ab initio free molecule calculations were performed for fully relaxed minima. The title compound, C16H24N2O2, previously obtained as a yellow oil, exhibits a rather low melting point close to room temperature 297–298 K). In the molecule, the isoindoline ring system is approximately planar and coplanar to the nitro group, forming a dihedral angle of 5.63 (15)°. In the crystal, only weak N—H...O and C—H...π interactions are observed, linking molecules into chains parallel to the [101] direction.
