A statistical approach for calibrating a microsimulation model for freeways

In this paper the calibration of a traffic microsimulation model based on speed-density relationships is presented. Hypothesis test was applied in the calibration process to measure the closeness between empirical data and simulation outputs and determine whether the difference between (observed and simulated) speed-density relationships was statistically significant. Statistical regressions between the variables of traffic flow were developed by using traffic data observed at the A22 Brenner Freeway, Italy. Nuorten fyysiseen aktiivisuuteen vaikuttavien tekijöiden tunteminen on perusteltua paitsi nuoruusiän terveyden ja hyvinvoinnin tukemiseksi niin myös yleisemmin kansanterveydellisistä syistä. Tutkimusten mukaan sekä vanhemmat että kaverit vaikuttavat monin eri tavoin lasten ja nuorten fyysiseen aktiivisuuteen ja liikuntaan sosiaalistumiseen. Monen nuoren kohdalla liikunnan harrastaminen hiipuu murrosiässä, mutta sosiaalinen tuki näyttäisi olevan yksi fyysistä aktiivisuutta ylläpitävistä tekijöistä. W artykule prezentuję wyniki jakościowej analizy aktów negacji stosowanych przez egzaminatora podczas rozmowy maturalnej z języka polskiego. Tekst składa się z trzech zasadniczych części. W pierwszej przedstawiam ustny egzamin maturalny z języka polskiego, a także omawiam wyznaczniki gatunkowe rozmowy egzaminacyjnej, uznając, że jednym z nich jest cel grzecznościowy. W kolejnej części charakteryzuję grzeczność w relacji nauczyciel – uczeń, odnosząc się do polskiego modelu grzecznościowego i dwóch podstawowych zasad: autonomiczności i życzliwości. Trans Justice Fights Trans Moral Panic

Between the summer of 2019 and the summer of 2021, a violent discussion about trans rights took place in Spain. This paper argues that the discussion can be understood as an instance of ‘social problems work’, more specifically as part of a moral crusade or a moral panic episode. Implicit in this is the idea that there has been an over-reaction to trans recognition and trans equality laws, publicly presented as a major social problem. This paper also provides legal arguments against the fears voiced in the discussion, by summarizing relevant ECHR case-law that agrees with an alternative feminist account of trans rights that de-pathologizes gender-identity self-determination. The paper has a twofold aim. First, it intends to offer a critical review of some phenomena related to the various claims of “right to a child”. These are phenomena, that are progressively emerging in the so-called “family” realities, in our time of the late modernity, and that, in many respects, seem to be summed up in the possibility of “surrogate motherhood”. If looked at with attention not only empirically, these phenomena can tell us something really significant about the way in which both the reality of the family and, more radically, the reality of the person, are today understood. Defining relations of minimal degree of the trace algebra of 3 X 3 matrices

The trace algebra Cnd over a field of characteristic 0 is generated by all traces of products of d generic n × n matrices, n, d 2. Minimal sets of generators of Cnd are known for n = 2 and n = 3 for any d as well as for n = 4 and n = 5 and d = 2. The defining relations between the generators are found for n = 2 and any d and for n = 3, d = 2 only. Starting with the generating set of C3d given by Abeasis and Pittaluga in 1989, we have shown that the minimal degree of the set of defining relations of C3d is equal to 7 for any d 3. New visualization approaches are being actively developed aiming to mitigate the effect of vergence-accommodation conflict in stereoscopic augmented reality; however, high interindividual variability in spatial performance makes it difficult to predict user gain. To address this issue, we investigated the effects of consistent and inconsistent binocular and focus cues on perceptual matching in the stereoscopic environment of augmented reality using a head-mounted display that was driven in multifocal and single focal plane modes.
