Accounting in Identity Regulation : Producing the Appropriate Worker

It is acknowledged that identity regulation in organizations relies on discursive resources. This study moves beyond discourse – illustrating how discourse and accounting measurements are mobilized together in revising identity. Measurement produces persistence, clarity, transparency and comparability, as well as direction: Accounting’s quantitative knowledge ‘amplifies’ discourse. We explain the Great Alliance between words and numbers in a case study addressing events in an organization’s transformation. Performance analysis of Latvian zenith camera

Since finalizing of design in 2016, the digital zenith camera of the University of Latvia was involved in a number of test observations as well as field observations at about 70 different sites. The paper presents analysis of observation results, estimation of instrument’s performance and accuracy. Random and systematic error sources are outlined. Impact of anomalous refraction on vertical deflection determination is discussed. Results of adaptation of GAIA reference star catalog for astrometric data reduction are reported.
Effects of progressive aquatic resistance training on symptoms and quality of life in women with knee osteoarthritis: A secondary analysis.

Abstract Objective: To conduct a secondary analysis to study the effects, those 4 months of aquatic resistance training have on self‐assessed symptoms and quality of life in post‐menopausal women with mild knee osteoarthritis (OA), after the intervention and after a 12‐month follow‐up period. Methods: A total of 87 post‐menopausal volunteer women, aged 60‐68 years, with mild knee OA were recruited in a randomized, controlled, 4‐month aquatic training trial (RCT) and randomly assigned to an intervention (n = 43) and a control (n = 44) group. Fitoremediācija ir iedarbīga vides piesārņojuma attīrīšanas tehnoloģija. Darba mērķis bija novērtēt vetīvera Chrysopogon zizanioides izmantošanu ūdenstilpju fitoremediācijas pētījumiem Latvijas apstākļos, salīdzinot tā morfoloģiskos parametrus un uzkrātos elementus dzinumos un saknēs brīvā dabā ūdenstilpēs un siltumnīcas apstākļos augušam vetīveram. C. zizanioides uzrādīja elementu (Fe, Mn, Zn, Cu, Pb, Ni un Cr) uzkrāšanas pazīmes, bet savstarpējas sakarības starp barības šķīdumā un biomasā esošo elementu koncentrāciju nenovēroja. The human ability to implement a sustained attention task is supported by brain networks that dynamically formed and dissolved through oscillatory synchronization. One of the important aspects of protecting software from attack, theft of algorithms, or illegal software use is eliminating the possibility of performing reverse engineering. One common method used to deal with these issues is code obfuscation. However, it is proven to be ineffective. Code encryption is a much more effective means of defying reverse engineering, but it requires managing a cryptographic key available to none but the permissible users. Listeria ģints baktērijas ir vidē plaši sastopami mikroorganismi, no kuriem Listeria monocytogenes un L. ivanovii spēj ierosināt listeriozi. Patogenitātes ziņā mazāk pētītā L. innocua ir Gram-pozitīva vides baktērija, kas ir radniecīga L. monocytogenes.
