The Kolmogorov Spline Network for Image Processing

In 1900, Hilbert stated that high order equations cannot be solved by sums and compositions of bivariate functions. In 1957, Kolmogorov proved this hypothesis wrong and presented his superposition theorem (KST) that allowed for writing every multivariate functions as sums and compositions of univariate functions. Sprecher has proposed in (Sprecher, 1996) and (Sprecher, 1997) an algorithm for exact univariate function reconstruction. Sprecher explicitly describes construction methods for univariate functions and introduces fundamental notions for the theorem comprehension (such as tilage). Silent music reading: Amateur musicians' visual processing and descriptive skill

This article addresses the silent reading of music notation, combining eye-movement measures with a semantic analysis of readers’ verbal descriptions of the notated music. A group of musical novices ( n = 16) and two groups of musical amateurs (less experienced n = 11 and more experienced n = 10) participated in three separate measurement sessions during a nine-month-long university music course designed for future primary-school teachers. Disconnected Graph Layout and the Polyomino Packing Approach

The new approach is based on polyomino representation of components as opposed to rectangles. The parameters of our algorithm and their influence on the drawings produced as well as a variation of the algorithm for multiple pages are discussed. In this article we present an announcement of results concerning: a) A solution to the Cauchy problem for the M-D equations, namely global existence, for small initial data at t = 0, of solutions for the M-D equations. b) Arguments from which asymptotic completeness for the M-D equations follows. c) Cohomological interpretation of the results in the spirit of nonlinear representation theory and its connection to the infrared tail of the electron in M-D classical field theory. Deformations of third-order Peregrine breather solutions of the nonlinear Schrödinger equation with four parameters

We present a new representation of solutions of the one-dimensional nonlinear focusing Schr\"odinger equation (NLS) as a quotient of two determinants. This formulation gives in the case of the order 3, new solutions with four parameters. This gives a very efficient procedure to construct families of quasirational solutions of the NLS equation and to describe the apparition of multirogue waves. With this method, we construct analytical expressions of four-parameters solutions; when all these parameters are equal to 0, we recover the Peregrine breather of order 3. If p does not divide the integers ?(1)/?(1) for all ??Irr(G) lying over ? , then we prove that the Sylow p -subgroups of G/Z are abelian. This theorem, which generalizes the Gluck-Wolf Theorem to arbitrary finite groups, is one of the principal obstacles to proving the celebrated Brauer Height Zero Conjecture

We call each member B θ of this partition a θ-block, and to each θ-block B θ we naturally associate a conjugacy class of p-subgroups of G / N , which we call the θ-defect groups of B θ . If N is trivial, then the θ-blocks are the Brauer p-blocks.
