El prestigio de la "Ciutat" de Valencia en tiempos de crisis: las andas e imagen de San Vicente Ferrer

El presente trabajo estudia lo que supuso el encargo, por parte de la Ciutat de Valéncia, de las andas, peana e imagen de san Vicente Ferrer a tres afamados pla teros de principios del XVII. La comisión de estas obras es exponente del prestigio de la Ciutat en un momento de crisis profunda, tanto económica como social. Se trataba de un espléndido conjunto en plata blanca y dorada, con aplicación de numerosos esmaltes, cuyo coste ascendió a casi cinco mil libras. Las andas, peana e imagen de san Vicente Ferrer eran un símbolo, rico y suntuoso, de la Ciutat, que era visto, ario tras año, en las diferentes procesiones que tenían lugar en la ciudad del Turia.
