The Development of the Teachers’ Competences and Abilities Concerning the Educational Mentoring of the Disabled

Abstract In this paper, we will present some important aspects regarding the design and implementation of a project which generates significant results in the life-long learning of the teachers from all levels of the Romanian education system. The project is part of the priority axis: “The development of human resources in education and professional training”. The general objective aims to improve the e-learning interactive methods and the activity with the disabled in order to use them also within the didactic activity, to improve the results of the educational process as well as to increase the disabled access to education.
Health Education at La Ribera Universitary Hospital

This paper describes the potential of learning platforms offering at the La Ribera Health Department. More than 100 activities have been designed and at least 5000 users have been participating. The paper concludes, first, that there are important factors to achieve a successful implementation of such elearning project. In second place it remarks that elearning platform can be used for other support activities rather than only online courses. Finally, the study emphasizes that training in electronic medical record of our professionals is a key element of hospital business.

In this paper four wireless sensor network operating systems are compared in terms of power consumption. The analysis takes into account the most common operating systems-TinyOS v1.0, TinyOS v2.0, Mantis and Contiki-running on Tmote Sky and MICAz devices. With the objective of ensuring a fair evaluation, a benchmark composed of four applications has been developed, covering the most typical tasks that a Wireless Sensor Network performs. The paper presents a set of experiments on the Rolling Horizon Technique (RHT), applied to the management of a multi-reservoir, multipurpose water resources system with over-year behaviour. In the RHT, decisions on releases from reservoirs are taken for a number of time steps ahead (the Forecasting Horizon – FH) through an optimization model, based on the present water availability in reservoirs and on some forecasts of future inflows over the FH. In light of the growing importance of water reuse as an alternative source of water resources in many regional areas, the objective of this paper is to analyse the efficiency of wastewater treatment plants as a basic requisite to improve the potential of the water reuse. The analytical benchmarking methodology Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) is used to calculate efficiency measurements.
