Diversity of vertebrate remains from the Lower Gogolin Beds (Anisian) of southern Poland

Middle Triassic (Muschelkalk) limestones and dolostones of southern Poland contain vertebrate remains, which can be used for palaeoecological and palaeogeographical analyses. The results presented concern vertebrate remains uncovered at four localities in Upper Silesia and one on Opole Silesia, a region representing the south-eastern margin of the Germanic Basin in Middle Triassic times. The most abundant remains in this assemblage are fish remains, comprising mostly actinopterygian teeth and scales. Chondrichthyan and sauropsid remains are less common. Abstract Biotechnology is an evolving research field that covers a broad range of topics. Here we aimed to evaluate the latest research literature, to identify prominent research themes, major contributors in terms of institutions, countries/regions, and journals. The Web of Science Core Collection online database was searched to retrieve biotechnology articles published since 2017. In total, 12,351 publications were identified and analyzed. Caratterizzazione molecolare di specie fungine associate al Punteruolo rosso

Nella primavera 2008 nella città di Palermo, pupe, larve e di Punteruolo rosso sono stati prelevati da palme infestate ed e’ stato avviato lo studio della naturale incidenza di patogeni del punteruolo rosso. Specie fungine sono state isolate principalmente dalle pupe, infatti circa il 30% di queste erano colonizzate da funghi. I sintomi dell’infezione includevano rapida atrofia dei tessuti pupali, mancata fuoriuscita dell’adulto e morte. La dissezione delle pupe infette ha rivelato la crescita di un denso micelio, suggerendo la penetrazione delle ife e la patogenicita’. The Burrows-Wheeler Transform (denoted by BWT) is a well founded mathematical transformation on sequences introduced in 1994, widely used in the context of Data Compression and recently studied also from a combinatorial point of view. The transformation does not itself compress the data, but it produces a permutation bwt(w) of an input string w that is easier to compress than the original one, with some fast locally-adaptive algorithms, such as Move-to-Front in combination with Huffman or arithmetic coding. Analysis focuses on his travel accounts and erotic translations, which both re-elaborated and challenged dominant Victorian discourses on race, gender and sexuality, generating controversies in the fields of anthropology, sexology and medicine. The focus is on the idealization and domination of unconventional love as well as the characteristics of an individual suffering from unfulfilled love, seeking despite that to find herself in everyday life. The inner development of the author of the letters has been shown, overcoming her depressing reality thanks to her inner strength and the power of her intellect as well finding herself in the daily routines of life.

The article shows how Clausewitz’s reflections on the nature of war can help us to understand the place of Richard Rorty in contemporary philosophical debate. Rorty’s postmetaphysical philosophy is thought to be an attack against the basic idea that reality ought to correspond to the ideals described by philosophers. Pragmatist tradition allows Rorty to consider philosophy not as epistemology but as a continuous intellectual autobiography.
