Understanding adults’ strong problem-solving skills based on PIAAC

Purpose Research has shown that the problem-solving skills of adults with a vocational education and training (VET) background in technology-rich environments (TREs) are often inadequate. However, some adults with a VET background do have sound problem-solving skills. The present study aims to provide insight into the socio-demographic, work-related and everyday life factors that are associated with a strong problem-solving performance. Nella memoria vengono approfonditi alcuni aspetti della misura in campo della conducibilità idraulica del suolo saturo, Kfs, con tecniche infiltrometriche. In primo luogo, è stata determinata la frequenza degli insuccessi con una prova del tipo Two- Ponding-Depth effettuata con l’infiltrometro ad anello singolo (PI). La suddetta frequenza è risultata più elevata in due suoli franco-argillosi (40%) che in uno franco-sabbioso (25%). Past aquatic environments in the Levant inferred from stable isotope compositions of carbonate and phosphate in fish teeth

Here we explore the carbon and oxygen isotope compositions of the co-existing carbonate and phosphate fractions of fish tooth enameloid as a tool to reconstruct past aquatic fish environments and harvesting grounds. The enameloid oxygen isotope compositions of the phosphate fraction (δ18OPO4) vary by as much as ~4‰ for migratory marine fish such as gilthead seabream (Sparus aurata), predominantly reflecting the different saline habitats it occupies during its life cycle. The offset in enameloid Δ18OCO3-PO4 values of modern marine Sparidae and freshwater Cyprinidae from the Southeast Mediterranean region vary between 8.1 and 11.0‰, similar to values reported for modern sharks. The double-sided linear induction motor (DLIM) is acquiring a significant relevance in the application of automated manufacturing systems. For this purpose, the modeling, simulation and determination of the parameters of a double-sided linear induction motor is presented in this paper. Furthermore, the DLIM constant voltage/frequency speed control system for this application is here described. In order to verify the performance of the proposed system, a suitable test bench for the DLIM motor is set-up. Antibacterial properties evaluation against pathogenic microorganisms Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus, and Escherichia coli made using the Parallel streak method in accordance with ATCC147 standard.
