The aim of this paper is to analyze private automobilism in capitalist system from the Marxist perspective. Author starts with Paul Yirilio thought on speed and politics, issues of the mobility and social and political control. Then article is focused on Erich Fromm’s, thinker from the Frankfurt School, criticism o f private owned cars. Next part is devoted to the social and cultural significance o f the car-first transportation in the United States. Paper ends with alternative point of view on the automobilism, delivered by punk rock artist, known as Jello Biafra. In conclusion, there is an attempt to outline socialist option on motorization.
Dead wood profile of a semi-natural boreal forest – implications for sampling

Dead wood profile of a forest is a useful tool for describing forest characteristics and assessing forest disturbance history. Nevertheless, there are few studies on dead wood profiles, including both coarse and fine dead wood, and on the effect of sampling intensity on the dead wood estimates. In a semi-natural boreal forest, we measured every dead wood item over 2 cm in diameter from 80 study plots. From eight plots, we further recorded dead wood items below 2 cm in diameter. Objective: Stereotyped beliefs about schizophrenia are well-established in the society and relatively common among healthcare professionals and students. The aim of this study was to investigate the opinions about the causes, treatment, and outcome of schizophrenia among healthcare students. Method: Undergraduate nursing and psychology students completed selected items of the Opinion on Mental Illness Questionnaire after reading a clinical vignette of undiagnosed schizophrenia. Time domain symmetry parameters analysis for series arc fault detection

This paper presents a feasibility study of exploiting the symmetry of some parameters for series arc fault detection in electrical circuits. The considered parameters are defined in the time domain and they are based on the current signal derivative and the evaluation of cross-correlation between subsequent observation windows. The analysis is carried out for AC systems, starting from an experimental characterization, which has been carried out in accordance with the Standard UL 1699 requirements for "unwanted tripping tests"and "operation inhibition tests"of arc fault circuit interrupters (AFCIs).
