The paper discusses a plethora of ideas regarding the concept of Roman citizenship, which is addressed in the light of a theory of fellowship (meaning ‘to be part of a given community’) and a theory of otherness (meaning ‘a relationship with someone who is not part of a given community’). There will be a brief overview of the development of citizenship in Ancient Roman history (during the period of Kings, Republican and Imperial Rome). Twenty-two years ago, Germany was reunified as a single state. Waste land, pollution and empty buildings are some of the problems that the people had to face, along with radical and painful political reorganization. The strong collective reaction to these environmental and social disasters was heart-warming. Hundreds of coordinated and collective actions of renovation in open spaces were carried out. People were involved in each level of the design process in order to decide the best way to improve and promote the heritage and identity of their landscape. Eduard Pant zaliczany jest do grona wybitnych postaci jakie żyły na Górnym Śląsku. Jego postawa osadzona w chrześcijańskim etosie nie zawsze była zrozumiała tak dla jemu współczesnych, jak i przez długie lata po II wojnie światowej. E. Pant starał się pogodzić lojalność wobec własnej grupy narodowej z lojalnością wobec państwa, w którym mieszkał. Był posłem i wicemarszałkiem Sejmu Śląskiego oraz senatorem II Rzeczypospolitej. Po dojściu do władzy A. Hitlera jawnie manifestował swój sprzeciw wobec partii nazistowskiej i jej przywódcy. Podjął też współpracę z częścią polskich środowisk, starając się wcielić w życie to co dziś określamy polsko-niemieckim pojednaniem.
