Interoceptive sensitivity is a biologically determined, constitutional trait of an individual. High interoceptive sensitivity has been often associated with proneness to anxiety. This association has been explained by elevated autonomic responsiveness in anxious individuals. However, in a heartbeat discrimination task (discrimination of heartbeats’ simultaneity to an external stimulus) low cardiac responsiveness has accompanied enhanced performance. The relation between these factors seems task dependent, and cannot comprehensively explain the link between interoceptive sensitivity and anxiety. Physiological and autonomic stress responses after prolonged sleep restriction and subsequent recovery sleep in healthy young men

Purpose Sleep restriction is increasingly common and associated with the development of health problems. We investigated how the neuroendocrine stress systems respond to prolonged sleep restriction and subsequent recovery sleep in healthy young men. Methods After two baseline (BL) nights of 8 h time in bed (TIB), TIB was restricted to 4 h per night for five nights (sleep restriction, SR, n = 15), followed by three recovery nights (REC) of 8 h TIB, representing a busy workweek and a recovery weekend. Legumes form root mutualistic symbioses with some soil microbes promoting their growth, rhizobia, and arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF). A conserved set of plant proteins rules the transduction of symbiotic signals from rhizobia and AMF in a so-called common symbiotic signaling pathway (CSSP). Sensitivity analysis of Gaussian processes for oceanic chlorophyll prediction

Gaussian Process Regression (GPR) for machine learning has lately been successfully introduced for chlorophyll content mapping from remotely sensed data. The method provides a fast, stable and accurate prediction of biophysical parameters. However, since GPR is a non-linear kernel regression method, the relevance of the features are not accessible. In this paper, we introduce a probabilistic approach for feature sensitivity analysis (SA) of the GPR in order to reveal the relative importance of the features (bands) being used in the regression process. Riesz-Fischer Maps, Semi-frames and Frames in Rigged Hilbert Spaces

In this note we present a review, some considerations and new results about maps with values in a distribution space and domain in a σ-finite measure space X. Namely, this is a survey about Bessel maps, frames and bases (in particular Riesz and Gel’fand bases) in a distribution space. In this setting, the Riesz-Fischer maps and semi-frames are defined and new results about them are obtained. Some examples in tempered distributions space are examined.

The aim of the present study was to investigate the value of the synthetic epitope analogues of the La/SSB autoantigen for the detection of antibodies to La/SSB, in comparison with recombinant La and fragments of this protein. Six-Week Endurance Exercise Alters Gut Metagenome That Is not Reflected in Systemic Metabolism in Over-weight Women.

Recent studies suggest that exercise alters the gut microbiome. We determined whether six-weeks endurance exercise, without changing diet, affected the gut metagenome and systemic metabolites of overweight women. Previously sedentary overweight women (n = 19) underwent a six-weeks endurance exercise intervention, but two were excluded due to antibiotic therapy. The gut microbiota composition and functions were analyzed by 16S rRNA gene amplicon sequencing and metagenomics.
