Defying Stereotypes with Nanodiamonds: Stable Primary Diamondoid Phosphines

International audience; Direct unequal C-H bond difunctionalization of phosphorylated diamantane was achieved in high yield from the corresponding phosphonates. Reduction of the functionalized phosphonates provides access to novel primary and secondary alkyl/aryl diamantane phosphines. The prepared primary diamantyl phosphines are quite air stable compared to their adamantyl and especially alkyl or aryl analogues. This finding is corroborated by comparing the singly occupied molecular orbital energy levels of the corresponding phosphine radical cations obtained by density functional theory computations.
Uttalet i läroböcker i svenska som andraspråk från begriplighetsperspektiv

I denna artikel studerar jag hur uttal presenteras i finska gymnasieläroböcker (n=10) i svenska som andra språk. Syftet är att undersöka vilka uttalsdrag som tas upp i läroböckerna och relationen mellan dessa drag och begriplighet. Metoden som jag använder är kvalitativ innehållsanalys. Prosodiska drag har ansetts ha en stor betydelse för begriplighet. Vad det gäller svenska är speciellt satsrytm viktig. Analysen visar dock att uppmärksamheten oftast fästs vid enskilda segment (språkljud) och ord. Mehrsprachigkeit in Motorradmagazinen am Beispiel von MOTORRAD und Allt om MC

This article deals with the incidence of multilingualism in the magazines MOTORRAD and Allt om MC and the question of which languages occur. It further examines whether translations or explanations of the foreign terms are given. The analysis shows that in both magazines several languages occur in addition to the German or Swedish of the magazine and that English features most prominently. The second most frequent foreign language found is Italian. Translations and explanations appear in both magazines, but it appears that MOTORRAD more frequently provides translations whereas Allt om MC inclines more to giving explanations. This special issue brings together empirical studies that investigate how bodily practices feature in action formation and action ascription in multilingual interaction (Schegloff, 2007; Levinson, 2013). In the title compound, C17H18O5, the dihedral angle between the benzene rings is 31.23 (16)°. In the crystal, the molecules are packed in an antiparallel fashion in layers along the a axis. In each layer, very weak C-H...O hydrogen bonds occur between the methoxy and methyl ester groups. Weak C-H...[pi] interactions between the 4'- and 5'-methoxy groups and neighbouring benzene rings [methoxy-C-ring centroid distances = 4.075 and 3.486 Å, respectively] connect the layers.

Osana Lastenkulttuuripoliittisen ohjelman (2003) toteuttamista käynnistettiin Taikalamppu-lastenkulttuurikeskusten verkoston toiminta tukemaan ja vahvistamaan lastenkulttuurin asemaa eri puolilla Suomea. In this paper, the suitability of HYDRUS-2D model to predict the average soil water content in the root zone of potato crop irrigated with subsurface drip irrigation plant, is initially assessed on the basis of a field study. Then, the model is tested to predict the salt distribution around a buried emitter, when two different water qualities (i.e. electrical conductivity of 1.0 dS m-1 and 4.0 dS m-1), are used during the growing season (treatments T1 and T2).
