Fomentar la resiliencia en familias con enfermedades crónicas pediátricas

En este artículo se describen los diferentes enfoques que se pueden aplicar al estudio del concepto de resiliencia familiar en el contexto de las enfermedades crónicas pediátricas y sus implicaciones en la práctica clínica y educativa. Asimismo, se describen los principios generales que deben regir esta práctica y las actuaciones concretas de los profesionales de los sistemas sanitarios, educativos y sociales. La resiliencia familiar es imprescindible para mantener una buena calidad de vida del niño enfermo y de la familia en su conjunto.

International audience; Tiger nut (Cyperus esculentus) is a tuber that can be consumed raw or processed into beverages. Its nutritional composition shows a high content of lipid and dietary fiber, close to those of nuts, and a high content of starch, like in other tubers. Tiger nuts also contain high levels of phosphorus, calcium, and phenolic compounds, which contribute to their antioxidant activity. From those characteristics, tiger nuts and derived beverages are particularly relevant to limit food insecurity in regions where the plant can grow. Pediatric head and neck cancer (PHNC) is rare and its nonspecific clinical manifestations may often lead to delayed diagnosis. We aimed to describe the signs, symptoms, and clinicopathological characteristics of PHNC. Medical records were retrospectively reviewed for all PHNC cases diagnosed from 1986 to 2016 affecting patients aged 19-years and younger from a tertiary referral center in Brazil. Demographic variables, anatomical site of primary tumors, histopathological diagnoses, signs and symptoms, and patterns of misdiagnosis were collected and interpreted by statistical and descriptive analysis.
