Sommario In questo articolo, si argomenterà che il paternalismo giuridico non è una concezione etico-politica condivisibile. In base a tale concezione, infatti, lo Stato può usare la forza, contro la volontà di un individuo adulto, anche qualora le sue scelte siano razionali e libere da coazione altrui, al fine di tutelare (ciò che si pretende sia) il suo bene. The theme of this article is the the Italian feminist movement of the 1980s. That movement was characterised by political transformation and a crtitique of identity. The article takes as its point of departure the inaugural speech of the movement, the manifesto "Piu donne che uomini" (1983). The analysis that we present is inspired in the work of Michel Foucault. It aims to show to that the production of new feministic subjectivities, when fighting the symbolic dimension of masculine domination, has an intrinsically political character. Latvijā ar diabētu slimo vairāki tūkstoši cilvēku un lielākā daļa no viņiem slimo tieši ar 2. tipa cukura diabētu. Nepārtraukti pieaug gan saslimšanas gadījumu skaits, gan diabēta slimības izplatība. Combined pharmacological treatment of heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia

Combined therapy of heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia using a non-systemically acting drug (bile acid sequestrants) and a systemically acting one is frequently employed in clinical practice. A brief review of this topic is presented, with particular emphasis on the use of cholestyramine combined with pravastatin, a new HMG CoA reductase inhibitor.
Lomitapide: a novel drug for homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia

Lomitapide (Juxtapid® and Lojuxta®; Aegerion Pharmaceuticals, Inc., MA, USA), an orally administered inhibitor of the microsomal triglyceride transfer protein, inhibits the synthesis and secretion of ApoB-containing lipoproteins and, thus, reduces plasma levels of LDL cholesterol (LDL-C). Lomitapide has been approved for the therapy of homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia patients. After a proof-of-concept Phase II trial, lomitapide has been tested in a multinational single-arm, open-label, 78-week, Phase III trial. Inclisiran: a small interfering RNA strategy targeting PCSK9 to treat hypercholesterolemia

Introduction: Inclisiran is a novel posttranscriptional gene silencing therapy that inhibits proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin type 9 (PCSK9) synthesis by RNA interference and has a potent, dose-dependent, durable effect in lowering LDL-C, and therefore is an effective drug to treat dyslipidemia, reducing the risk for acute cardiovascular (CV) events.
