Statins have become the mainstay of hypercholesterolemia treatment. Despite a seemingly clear rationale behind their use, the inhibition of HMG-CoA reductase, these compounds have been shown to elicit a variety of unanticipated and elusive effects and side effects in vivo. Among the most frequently noted side effects of statin treatment are elevations in liver enzymes. Isolated rat neurohypophyses were fixed by their stalks to a platinum wire electrode and superfused with Krebs-HEPES solution. Vasopressin and oxytocin released into the medium were determined by specific radioimmunoassays. Hormone secretion was increased by electrical stimulation of the pituitary stalk at different frequencies. The effects of several potassium channel blockers, tetraethylammonium (TEA) ions, 4-aminopyridine (4-AP) and 3,4-diaminopyridine (3,4-DAP) were tested. Abstract In a previous study, we reported a new pyrroloquinazoline derivative, 3-(4′-acetoxy-3′,5′-dimethoxy)benzylidene-1,2-dihydropyrrolo[2,1- b ]quinazoline-9-one (PQ), which inhibited human purified 5-lipoxygenase activity and prostaglandin E 2 release in lipopolysaccharide-stimulated RAW 264.7 cells. In the present work, we show that PQ inhibits cyclo-oxygenase-2 activity in intact cell assays (human monocytes) and purified enzyme preparations (ovine isoenzymes) without affecting cyclo-oxygenase-1 activity. Izdegšanas sindromu veicina hronisks stress. Augsts emocionālais intelekts (EI) pasargā no izdegšanas. Internāls kontroles lokuss (KL), uzskats, ka dzīves notikumi ir atkarīgi no savas rīcības, prognozē zemāku izdegšanu. Mērķis: Izpētīt EI un KL ietekmi uz izdegšanas sindromu medicīnas studentiem un rezidentiem Latvijā. Uzdevumi: Noteikt izdegšanu, EI un KL Latvijas ārstniecības studentiem un rezidentiem un kā tie ietekmē izdegšanu. W artykule na podstawie badań jakościowych (wywiady, listy) i ilościowych przedstawiono refleksje i wspomnienia kobiet migrantek dotyczące ich rodzin i małżeństwa. Podejmując się analizy teoretycznej tych badań, wzięto pod uwagę teorię roli jako narzędzie do wyjaśniania zja-wisk. Teoria ta została zmodyfikowana poprzez dodanie innych, pozaludzkich (non-human) partne-rów roli, wobec których rola migrantki jest konstruowana i odgrywana. Epistemic uses of the pretérito pluscuamperfecto in La Paz Spanish

This paper explores epistemic-evidential uses of the pluperfect, i.e. pretérito pluscuamperfecto, in La Paz Spanish. The pretérito pluscuamperfecto displays functions of a reported evidential form, conforming to results from previous studies on Argentinian Spanish (Bermúdez 2008; Speranza 2014) and, furthermore, is used according to a previously unnoticed inferential evidential function. Using theoretical frameworks from Kockelman (1957) and Bergqvist (2018), this paper describes the configuration of participant roles and event types implied in the different evidential functions of the pretérito pluscuamperfecto.
Narratives by women managers about spousal support for their careers

In this article we present a qualitative study of spousal support for the careers of women managers. The research material consists of the narratives of 25 women managers in Finland. The study has two main implications. Firstly, unlike previous studies, we use a narrative approach to demonstrate that a woman manager's career and spousal support are experienced as ambiguous and evolving over the career. The support was constructed by the women managers as flourishing, irrelevant, deficient or inconsistent. Maģistra darbā aplūkots ne mazāk kā divdesmit Saeimas deputātu pieteikums Satversmes tiesā kā viens no abstraktās konstitucionālās kontroles pieteikuma veidiem. Darba mērķis ir izpētīt Saeimas deputātu pieteikuma teorētiskos un praktiskos aspektus Satversmes tiesas procesā, kā arī analizēt Saeimas deputātu pieteikumu kā parlamenta mazākuma aizsardzības mehānismu. Darba ietvaros aplūkots abstraktās konstitucionālās kontroles iezīmes, Saeimas deputātu pieteikuma būtība un attīstība, kā arī šādam pieteikumam izvirzītās prasības Satversmes tiesas likumā. Pētījumi par valodas lomu parolēs pārsvarā izskata tikai to drošības aspektu, jo likumsakarības lietotāju izvēlētās parolēs iespējo to efektīvu minēšanu. Šīs pētījums izskatīja paroļu lingvistiskus aspektus, to veidošanas stratēģijas, mentālus procesus, ko tās kopīgo ar parastu valodu, lietotāju zināšanu avotus, kā arī uz stratēģiju komponentu vispārējo ietekmi uz drošību. No preskriptīviem avotiem savāktas stratēģijas tika klasificētas pēc to komponentiem; lielākoties iekļaujot sevī paradigmatiskās kopas, kuru elementi var tiek manipulēti, kā arī veidot sintagmatiskās virknes.
