The impact of social media and offline influences on consumer behaviour. An analysis of the low-cost airline industry

This study analyses the impact of social media as well as offline environments upon tourist online purchase and recommendation behaviour of low-cost airline services. Drawing on the Theory of Reasoned Action (TRA), this research considers the effect of offline social influences (interpersonal and external influences) and analyses online Consumer-to-Consumer (C2C) information exchanges as a driver of customer attitude towards online purchases. We propose that these factors improve online repurchase intentions and positive word-of-mouth communication (WOM and e-WOM) in low-cost settings. Refractive index of GaTe under high pressure

In this paper we describe two experiments, in the near- and mid-infrared, designed to investigate the evolution under pressure of the GaTe refractive index for polarization parallel and perpendicular to the crystallographic c-axis (in the layer plane). The refractive index dispersion for both light polarizations has been determined up to 5.5 GPa. It is found that the refractive index increases faster in the direction perpendicular to the c-axis than along the c-axis. To find out the origin of such a difference we used a Phillips-Van Vechten model and arrived at the conclusion that it is due to the different pressure behaviour of the Penn gap for each polarization.
Detection and orientation evaluation for three-dimensional objects

This paper presents a novel method for detection and orientation evaluation for three-dimensional (3-D) objects based on range images. It is based on the calculation of the phase Fourier transform of the 3-D object range image. The method permits the estimation of the angular position of the object. It works with rotations around an axis perpendicular to the line of sight, although it exhibits a certain nodding tolerance. Simulated results demonstrate the ability of the new introduced method.

According to the statistics, violence against women is quite common in Finland, particularly in partner relationships and in care work. The present article looks at the similarities in the ways in which victims of occupational violence in care work and victims of intimate partner violence understand their experiences of violence. Association between pain, central sensitization and anxiety in postherpetic neuralgia

Background In postherpetic neuralgia (PHN), dorsal root ganglia neurons are damaged. According to the proposed models, PHN pain might be associated with nociceptive deafferentation, and peripheral (heat hyperalgesia) or central sensitization (allodynia). Summary This paper reviews the important biological and pharmacological activities of saponins reported over the last few years. These include cancer-related activity, as well as antiphlogistic and antiallergic, immunomodulating, antihepatotoxic, antiviral, hypoglycemic, antifungal and molluscicidal activities. The action of saponins on the cardiovascular, central nervous, and endocrine systems and other miscellaneous effects are also discussed.

The decision to change the CEO is one of the most important decisions of the Board of Directors in a company. This study increases understanding of the process that leads to a Board’s decision to dismiss the CEO under conditions of poor performance, and of the meaning of attributions in CEO dismissal. The role of the Chair of the Board in this process is also explored. Four new triterpene saponins from Bupleurum rigidum L.

Abstract Four previously undescribed triterpene saponins (1-4) were isolated from the EtOH/H2O extract of the aerial parts of Bupleurum rigidum, together with a known structural analogue. Their structures were elucidated by analysis of 1D-(1H, 13C) and 2D-NMR (1H-1H COSY, TOCSY, ROESY, HSQC, HMBC) spectroscopic data and mass spectrometry (ESI- and HR-ESI-MS) and by comparison with those of related metabolites. An unusual structure was characterized as 3-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl-(1 → 2)-[ β-D-glucopyranosyl-(1 → 3)]- β-D-fucopyranosyl-21-O-β-D-glucoyranosyl-3β,16β,21β,23-tetrahydroxy-13,28-epoxyolean-11-ene (1).
