Interventional treatment for neuropathic pain due to combined cervical radiculopathy and carpal tunnel syndrome: a case report

Key Clinical Message The coexistence of median and cervical nerve root damage might hide a complex pathophysiology. Here, we describe and discuss the case of a patient suffering from numbness and painful tingling of the hand, whose symptoms were effectively treated with pulsed radiofrequency and epidural administration of bupivacaine and morphine.

There is an increasing consensus that the treatment of Hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) significantly varies with the degree of inflammation and that treatment according to guidelines is not always successful. Here, we report the case of a 31-year-old male with widespread, highly inflammatory Hurley Stage II HS in multiple locations who failed to respond to any kind of established medical treatment, including biologics. As an alternative approach, Ustekinumab was maintained, and additionally the patient was treated with LAight therapy, a combination of intense pulsed light and radiofrequency. Open reduction and internal fixation of radial neck fractures can lead to secondary loss of reduction and nonunion due to insufficient stability. Nevertheless, there are only a few biomechanical studies about the stability achieved by different osteosynthesis constructs.Forty-eight formalin-fixed, human proximal radii were divided into 6 groups according to their bone density (measured by dual-energy x-ray absorptiometry). Šis pētījums ir veltīts serbu tautas tēla konstruēšanai franču sabiedrībā XX gs. beigās caur mediju un literāro diskursu par Dienvidslāvijas kariem (1991.-2001.). Mediju teksti tiek pētīti kā sociāli un ideoloģiski nosacīta komunikācijas vienība. Daiļliteratūras darbi tiek analizēti saskaņā ar diskursīvo un imagoloģijas pieejām. Pētījuma mērķis ir atsegt diskursīvas stratēģijas, kuras mūsdienās veicina sabiedriskā viedokļa veidošanu, kā arī izpētīt mediju un literārā diskursa mijiedarbību. Realizētā analīze atklāj dominējošā mediju diskursa autoritāru raksturu un aicina padomāt par nepieciešamību izglītot publiku par mērķiem, kurus slēpj diskursīvie citādības tēlojumi.

his study examines a hybrid form of the Finnish Peer-Group Mentoring (PGM) merging student teachers and in-service teachers of different career stages in group meetings facilitated by an educated mentor. Experiences of the in-service participants were studied by interviewing them, and the data were analysed through thematic analysis. Four main themes were identified: 1) Enjoying group activities, 2) Personal professional development, 3) Attaching to the professional community and 4) Developing the teacher profession.
