Using of reflections for expansion of frequency tuning in a THz-band gyrotron
2017
Effect of delayed reflection on operation of a second-harmonic THz-band gyrotron is studied. Theoretical analysis, numerical calculations and experimental observations for the 0.394 THz FU CW IIB gyrotron are presented.
Quantification of relaxor behavior in (1 − x)Na0.5Bi0.5TiO3 – xCaTiO3 lead-free ceramics system
2019
Abstract This work examines the relaxor behavior of lead-free ceramic (1 − x)Na0.5Bi0.5TiO3–xCaTiO3 systems. A stable rhombohedral (R3c) phase is detected at room temperature for all compositions by XRD and Raman spectroscopy. Relaxor behavior was observed in the temperature range 300 K - 400 K for all materials. Ceramics exhibit normal ferroelectric properties at room temperature, and then they develop relaxor characteristics with increasing temperature showing the same dispersive properties. This work quantifies the relaxor phenomenon at low temperature. For instance, the maximum temperature of relaxor and the order of dispersion were determined at the strongest dispersion. Finally, the s…
Pressure‐induced widths and shifts for the ν3 band of methane
1994
International audience; Widths and shifts of methane lines perturbed by nitrogen are calculated using a complex-valued implementation of Robert-Bonamy (RB) theory. The static intermolecular potential is described as a sum of electrostatic forces and Lennard-Jones (6-12) atom-atom terms, using literature values for all physical parameters. Vibrational dependence of the isotropic potential is obtained from the polarizability of methane assuming a dispersion interaction. The repulsive part of the Lennard-Jones accounts for the greatest part of widths, while dispersion interactions are largely responsible for shifts. Although the average error between calculated and observed linewidths (up to J…
Models for supercontinuum generation beyond the slowly-varying-envelope approximation
2014
International audience; We show numerically that both the modified Korteweg–de Vries and the sine-Gordon models are conducive to the generation of supercontinua with spectral bandwidths of several octaves, when an intense short pulse is launched as the initial condition. These models beyond the slowly-varying-envelope approximation could play an important role in modeling supercontinuum generation in gas-filled hollow waveguides.
Ring opening polymerization of d,l-lactide and ε-caprolactone catalysed by (pyrazol-1-yl)copper(ii) carboxylate complexes
2021
1,2-Bis{(3,5-dimethylpyrazol-1-yl)methyl}benzene (L) reacts with [Cu(OAc)2] and C6H5COOH, 4-OH-C6H4COOH, 2-Cl-C6H4COOH and (3,5-NO2)2-C6H3COOH to afford the copper complexes [Cu2(C6H5COO)4(L)2] (1), [Cu2(4-OH-C6H4COO)4(L)2] (2), [Cu2(2-Cl-C6H4COO)4(L)2]n (3) and [Cu{(3,5-NO2)2-C6H3COO}2L]n (4) which are characterised by IR, mass spectrometry, elemental analyses, and X-ray crystallography. The structural data revealed two geometries that are adopted by the complexes: (i) paddle wheel in 1, 2·7H2O, 3 and (ii) regular chains in 3 and 4. Magnetic studies show strong antiferromagnetic couplings in the paddle wheel complexes and a weak antiferromagnetic coupling in the monometallic chain one. Cat…
The nature of interactions of benzene with CF3I and CF3CH2I
2019
In situ grown crystals of CF3I and CF3CH2I are dominated by I⋯I and F⋯F interactions. Their co-crystals with benzene, (CF3I)2·C6H6 and CF3CH2I·C6H6, contain two completely different sets of intermolecular interactions. (CF3I)2·C6H6 shows a unique halogen-bond type: above-the-bond C–I⋯πC6H6 interactions. CF3CH2I·C6H6 shows above-the-centre C–H⋯πC6H6 interactions. These interactions are electrostatically dominated type II halogen bonds between single halogenoalkane molecules and weaker dispersion dominated interactions between the co-crystal components. The observed preferences for benzene for the two binding partners match with calculated molecular electrostatic potentials.
Enhanced NiO Dispersion on a High Surface Area Pillared Heterostructure Covered by Niobium Leads to Optimal Behaviour in the Oxidative Dehydrogenatio…
2020
[EN] A Nb-containing siliceous porous clay heterostructure (PCH) with Nb contents from 0 to 30 wt %) was prepared from a bentonite and used as support in the preparation of supported NiO catalysts with NiO loading from 15 to 80 wt %. Supports and NiO-containing catalysts were characterised by several physicochemical techniques and tested in the oxidative dehydrogenation (ODH) of ethane. The characterisation studies on Nb-containing supports showed the presence of well-anchored Nb(5+)species without the formation of Nb(2)O(5)crystals. High dispersion of nickel oxide with low crystallinity was observed for the Nb-containing PCH supports. In addition, when NiO is supported on these Nb-containi…
Tetrasubstituted Thieno[3,2- b]thiophenes as Hole-Transporting Materials for Perovskite Solar Cells
2019
Three hole-transporting materials (HTMs) were prepared following a straightforward synthetic route by cross-linking arylamine-based ligands with a simple thieno[3,2-b]thiophene (TbT) core. The novel HTMs were fully characterized with standard techniques to gain insight into their optical and electrochemical properties and were incorporated in solution-processed mesoporous (FAPbI3)0.85(MAPbBr3)0.15 perovskite-based solar cells. The similar molecular structure of the synthesized HTMs was leveraged to investigate the role that the bridging units between the conjugated TbT core and the peripheral arylamine units plays on their properties and thereby on the photovoltaic response. A remarkable po…
Vinyl sulfone building blocks in covalently reversible reactions with thiols
2015
In the present study we use quantum-chemical calculations to investigate how the reactivity of vinyl sulfone-based compounds can be modified from an irreversible to a reversible reaction with thiols. Based on the predictions from theory, an array of nine different vinyl sulfones with systematically varying substitution pattern was synthesized and their crystal structures were determined. Subsequent Hirshfeld surface analyses employing the principle of electrostatic complementarity aid the understanding of the crystal packing of the synthesized compounds. Reactivity studies against the nucleophile 2-phenylethanethiol mirror the properties predicted by the quantum-chemical computations in sol…
Reversible O–H bond activation by an intramolecular frustrated Lewis pair
2019
The interactions of the O-H bonds in alcohols, water and phenol with dimethylxanthene-derived frustrated Lewis pairs (FLPs) have been probed. Within the constraints of this backbone framework, the preference for adduct formation or O-H bond cleavage to give the corresponding zwitterion is largely determined by pKa considerations. In the case of the PPh2/B(C6F5)2 system and p-tBuC6H4OH, an equilibrium is established between the two isomeric forms which allows the thermodynamic parameters associated with zwitterion formation via O-H bond cleavage to be probed.
