The Journal de Math\'ematiques Pures et Appliqu\'ees(1917-1937) : correspondence between Henri Villat and Robert de Montessus de Ballore

We are interested in the "Journal de Math\'ematiques Pures et Appliqu\'ees" (JMPA) over the period 1917-1937. From the end of 1921, two mathematicians worked to its publication, Henri Villat as editor in chief and Robert Montessus Ballore as associate editor. Through unpublished letters, we descrive the operation of the JMPA.

International audience; In this paper we present an exploratory study on the kind of questions or difficulties lecturers point out at the beginning of an educational course – to be addressed in it. These questions happen to be very general and are poorly connected to the knowledge to be taught. We suggest a twofold interpretation of this phenomenon. On the one hand, and in the line of the didactic transposition theory, teachers do not allow themselves to raise questions about the knowledge that is supposed to be their main field of expertise. Preliminary photochemical studies of fluorene in various aqueous media

- The current study investigates the direct photochemical degradation of aqueous fluorene with the aid of a 125W polychromatic medium, pressure Hg lamp. The purpose was to test the effectiveness of the lamp in irradiation using fluorene spiked solution as substrate. A 700 ml volume of fluorene solution of 0.002 mg/l was irradiated batch-wise at 1, 3, 6, 12, 18, 24 and 48 h. The paper presents a novel numerical approach for the parameters determination of crystalline silicon PV models four lumped parameters equivalent circuit. The novel approach basically deals with a new method, alternative to the iterative one known in literature, to calculate the series resistance. Particularly, it allows the evaluation of the lumped parameters on the basis of the manufacturer’s datasheet. The results of a phytosociological investigation about a coastal area of S. Sicily, close to Gela, are presented. The coexistence of several lithological substrata, as well as the particular climatic conditions of this area, gives rise to a noteworthy floristic and vegetational biodiversity. As matter of fact, a set of N. African species are here localized, taking part to peculiar vegetation types, sometimes exclusive of this sicilian coast-stretch.
