MR-Tomographie bei Innenbandverletzungen des Kniegelenkes
1992
Frequency and characteristics of lesions of the medial collateral ligaments (MCL) were studied by MRI in 155 patients with trauma to the knee. There were abnormalities of the MCL in 38% of cases with ligamentous injuries and in 27% these were combined with meniscal tears. 11% of these patients showed isolated rupture of MCL and as a result of the MRI findings were treated conservatively. By means of T2*-weighted images the individual lesions could be accurately localised. Characteristic findings have been defined.

Emergent and delayed hybrid external fixation management of tibial pilon fractures: A multicentric retrospective analysis of 80 patients
2017
Objective: To report our experience with the hybrid external fixator in emergency. Methods: We assessed 80 cases of pilon fracture treated with the external fixator during the period of January 2009 and December 2016:55 men (69%) and 30 women (33%) with a mean age of 40 years (range between 16 and 70). About 45 occurred as isolated trauma, 35 instead were politrauma. Each patient underwent standard radiographic examination and a CT examination. There were 28 open fractures (35%), (Gustilo type 1, 2 and 3) while closed fractures showed soft tissue involvement of various grade (2-3 Tscherne classification). In all cases, the external fixation, sometimes associated with other reduction and syn…
Messung der Pfannenwanderung bei zementfreien Hüftimplantaten
1998
PURPOSE Migration measurements of acetabular components using a special computer aided method (EBRA = abbreviation for the German term "Ein-Bild-Rontgenanalyse") were performed to evaluate early results of the implants and predict aseptic loosening. METHODS Standard ap-radiographs of the pelvis were marked, specific points were digitised. Simulating the spatial situation the programme computes longitudinal and vertical migration of the cup. 74 acetabular components in 71 patients could be studied by migration measurements. RESULTS 14 patients showed migration of more than 1 mm, which is the confidence limit of this method. Each of these patients showed diverse reasons for the migration, i.e…
Skelettveränderungen bei Frühgeborenen mit Kupfermangel
1991
We describe 5 preterm infants (25th to 30th week of gestation) suffering from alimentary copper deficiency. The diagnosis was confirmed by low serum copper and caeruloplasmin concentrations. Characteristic clinical findings were repeated apnoeic attacks, hypopigmentation of skin and hair, anaemia, neutropenia and leucopenia refractory to other therapy, as well as increasing serum alkaline phosphatase activity in the first month of life. Starting in the 3rd to 12th week of life the radiographic findings were general skeletal osteoporosis and retardation, metaphyseal radiodense lines, irregular metaphyses, cupping and spurring of the metaphyses, followed by multiple fractures and subperiostea…
Imaging photoplethysmography for assessment of chronic pain patients
2019
In present pilot study application of multi-spectral imaging photoplethysmography for assessment of chronic pain patients during topical skin heating test was proposed. Photoplethysmography signal was recorded at 420nm, 530nm and 810nm illumination from the skin and corresponding perfusion indexes and perfusion maps were calculated. The novel parameter-PPGflare index was introduced and compared in neuropathic patients and healthy volunteers. Preliminary results suggest that neuropathic patients exhibited significantly lower PPGflare index, and that local heating substantially change PPG waveform at heat exposed skin region. Present study emphasizes advantages of imaging photoplethysmography…

Bildgebende Diagnostik der Peritonealkarzinose
1990
Two hundred and eighty-seven radiological and sonographic examinations in 142 patients with confirmed peritoneal carcinosis were evaluated retrospectively. The examinations included abdominal films (19), infusion urograms (20), contrast examinations of the intestine (26), small bowel enemas (2), double-contrast examinations of the colon (40), demonstrations with water-soluble contrast (6), sonographies (80) and CTs (96). CT and colonic double-contrast studies were complementary and valuable methods for diagnosing peritoneal carcinosis and should both be used.
<title>Potential of advanced photoplethysmography sensing for noninvasive vascular diagnostics and early screening</title>
2002
Advanced sensor device for shape analysis of the tissue- reflected mean single period photoplethysmography (SPPPG) signals has been designed and clinically tested. The SPPPG signal shape reveals individual features of the patient's cardio-vascular state. Clinical studies of several patient groups (e.g. diabetes mellitus, atherosclerosis obliterans, Raynaud's syndrome) made possible to specify components of the SPPPG signal that are sensitive to the corresponding organic or functional pathologies. Comparison of the right and left arm finger SPPPG signal shapes, for instance, appears to be efficient tool for early screening of unilateral atherosclerosis obliterans.© (2002) COPYRIGHT SPIE--The…
