Our perceptions of events in the Mediterranean are strongly influenced by a range of visual practices that impact on both the emotional and the political. In this paper, I set out to critically explore the visual geographies underlying photographic images of contemporary migration flows across the Mediterranean Sea. I argue the need for a methodological shift from a content analysis approach to a critical investigation of the spatial interweaving of images, gazes and aesthetic regimes that governs both the production and reception of such photographs. Tässä artikkelissa tarkastellaan pedagogisia käytänteitä, jotka tukevat kiinnittymistä sekä kielen ja sisältöjen rinnakkaista oppimista ammatillisessa koulutuksessa. Tiimietnografinen haastattelu- ja havainnointiaineisto kerättiin ammatillisessa oppilaitoksessa kahtena lukuvuonna. Osallistujat ovat myöhään suomalaiselle koulupolulle tulleita maahanmuuttotaustaisia nuoria aikuisia. Näiden seitsemän opiskelijan lisäksi haastateltiin neljäätoista opetus- ja ohjaushenkilökunnan jäsentä. This chapter, intending to be part of the reasoning on the perception of risk from extreme natural events, intends to describe the main contents of the National Emergency Plan for volcanic events of national importance on the island of Stromboli (ME) prepared in 2015 by the Department for the Civil Protection (DPC). The volcanic island of Stromboli is in fact largely exposed to the risk associated with the activities of the volcano of the same name, especially that of the tsunami.
