Abstract This article is dedicated to present the most common word-formation strategies in German railway specialist terminology. The presentation of the most productive morphological nomination strategies in the analysed area is preceded by a short historical outline of the railway industry in Germany. AbstractUnder the Directive 2012/34/EU (21 November 2012) “the charges for … [rail] infrastructure … shall be set at the cost that is directly incurred as a result of operating the train service”. This charging rule is new for Baltic States’ railways, where due to the favorable geographic position a full cost application without detalization was possible. One of the most intensive processes in the development of Polish transport infrastructure is currently modernizing main national railway lines. One of them is the railway line between Poznan and Szczecin. During the realization of such projects there occur conflicts in fulfilling different ecosystem functions by landscapes. On the basis of the theory of ecosystem services these conflicts should be solved, and potential projects – optimized. Automated Railway Signs Detection. Preliminary Results

Abstract Nowadays safety in railways is mostly achieved by automated system technologies such as ERTMS/ETCS. Nevertheless, on local railways (suburban and regional lines) several tasks still depend on the choices and actions of a human crew. With the aim to improve safety in such type of railways, this research proposes a system for the automatic detection and recognition of railway signs by means of the digital image processing technique. First field applications, carried out on the Italian railway network, show that the proposed system is very accurate (the percentage of correctly detected railway signs is about 97%), even at high train speeds.

Opracowanie przedstawia kierunki modernizacji sieci kolejowej Polski w latach 2003-2017. Długość sieci kolejowej w kraju ulega zmniejszeniu. Zachodzi proces likwidacji linii i zawieszenia przewozów kolejowych. W kraju modernizowane są główne linie magistralne. Na modernizację składają się: wymiana torów, przebudowa trakcji elektrycznej i wprowadzenie nowoczesnych systemów sterowania ruchem i sygnalizacji (ECTS). Przebudowie ulęgają linie kolejowe o znaczeniu tranzytowym zaliczane do europejskiego układu połączeń kolejowych w ruchu pasażerskim (umowa AGC) i towarowym (umowa AGTC). Pētījumā tiek meklēts iemesls, kāpēc apskatītā Ruby on Rails lietotne pārpilda tai atvēlēto atmiņu produkcijas serverī, par hipotēzi izvirzot to, ka lietotnē ir atmiņas noplūdes. Pētījumā apskatīta tīmeklī pieejamā informācija par Ruby lietotņu atmiņas patēriņa profilēšanu un testēšanu. Praktiskajā daļā tika veikta dažāda veida lietotnes testēšana gan testa, gan produkcijas vidē. Testēšanas rezultāti pētījumā izvirzīto hipotēzi noraidīja, atklājot atmiņas burbuļa veidošanos.
