Purpose: This study was conducted to determine the hemodynamic and ventilatory changes during implant surgery with intravenous conscious sedation, and whether preoperative anxiety, gender or age influence these parameters. Patients and Methods: A prospective study carried out between May 2004 and February 2007, on 102 patients treated with dental implants under local anesthesia and conscious intravenous sedation. Patients completed a questionnaire prior to surgery to evaluate preoperative dental anxiety using Corah's scale. Bakalaura darba „Medņu Tetrao urogallus populācija un tās aizsardzība Smiltenes novadā” pētījuma ietvaros tika veikta Smiltenes novadā esošajās medņu riesta vietās medņu gaiļu uzskaite laika posmā no 2012. gada līdz 2014. gadam. Autore ir iepazinusies ar zinātnisko literatūru par medņu bioloģiju, ekoloģiju un to aizsardzību, medņu gaiļu uzskaites metodiku un riestošanas vietām, kā arī medņu skaita ietekmējošajiem faktoriem. Iegūtie rezultāti ir apkopoti bakalaura darbā, kurš sastāv no 15 attēliem, 10 grafikiem un desmit pielikumiem.

Resum Aquest treball presenta una aproximació a l'estudi del raonament moral prosocial, els valors i l¿empatia i de com el seu desenvolupament es veu influït per la variable nivell educatiu. L'objectiu principal és determinar en quina mesura la variable nivell d'estudis influeix en el raonament moral prosocial, els valors i l'empatia dels adolescents. L'estudi es realitza amb una mostra d'estudiants de secundària (n = 114), homes i dones. Els resultats indiquen que la variable seleccionada té efectes significatius sobre diversos aspectes del raonament moral, la disposició empàtica i els valors dels subjectes. This case series investigated the effectiveness and safety of use of cyanoacrylate in Ahmed valve implantation through pars plana for refractory glaucoma. Patients and methods Seventeen eyes of 17 patients with refractory glaucoma underwent Ahmed valve scleral suture-less implantation through pars plana with a cyanoacrylate suture of the plate. Purpose To assess the safety and effectiveness of the Hydrus Microstent (Ivantis, Inc, Irvine, CA) with concurrent cataract surgery (CS) for reducing intraocular pressure (IOP) in open-angle glaucoma (OAG). Design Prospective, multicenter, randomized, single-masked, controlled clinical trial. Participants One hundred eyes from 100 patients 21 to 80 years of age with OAG and cataract with IOP of 24 mmHg or less with 4 or fewer hypotensive medications and a washed-out diurnal IOP (DIOP) of 21 to 36 mmHg. As a consequence of the performance of a randomized controlled clinical trial on perioperative histamine release and cardiovascular and respiratory disturbances, several types of increases in plasma histamine had to be distinguished instead of only two which existed at the beginning of the study: drug-induced allergic and pseudoallergic reactions. First of all, the new classification by aetiology (clinical epidemiology) was derived from a meta-analysis (secondary analysis) of the most recent literature.
