Interoceptive sensitivity is a biologically determined, constitutional trait of an individual. High interoceptive sensitivity has been often associated with proneness to anxiety. This association has been explained by elevated autonomic responsiveness in anxious individuals. However, in a heartbeat discrimination task (discrimination of heartbeats’ simultaneity to an external stimulus) low cardiac responsiveness has accompanied enhanced performance. The relation between these factors seems task dependent, and cannot comprehensively explain the link between interoceptive sensitivity and anxiety. To improve maximal endurance performance, an optimal physiological training load, i.e. the balance between exercise and recovery, is required. Lavatanssi on kasvattanut suosiotaan viime vuosikymmeninä. Terveys- ja kuntoliikuntamuotona sitä on tutkittu varsin vähän. Tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli selvittää lavatanssin fyysistä aktiivisuutta ja kuormittavuutta sekä niihin yhteydessä olevia tekijöitä. Yhden tanssi-illan aikana tammikuussa 2011 tanssijoiden fyysistä kuormittavuutta mitattiin sykemittareilla ja fyysistä aktiivisuutta selvitettiin askelmittareilla. Taustatietoja kerättiin sähköisellä kyselylomakkeella. Tutkimukseen osallistui 58 vapaaehtoisesti ilmoittautunutta tanssinharrastajaa. Introduction. Futsal has grown notably in last years and have over 12 million players worldwide. Futsal is a high-intensity indoor sport where burst of multi-planar movements varies with short periods of rest. Futsal is played on a court sized 40 x 20 m for two halves of 20 min, where clock is stopped when ball is out of play. Purpose Sleep restriction is increasingly common and associated with the development of health problems. We investigated how the neuroendocrine stress systems respond to prolonged sleep restriction and subsequent recovery sleep in healthy young men. Methods After two baseline (BL) nights of 8 h time in bed (TIB), TIB was restricted to 4 h per night for five nights (sleep restriction, SR, n = 15), followed by three recovery nights (REC) of 8 h TIB, representing a busy workweek and a recovery weekend.
