SIGNIFICANCE The diagnosis of dry eye disease and meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD) is challenging. Measuring meibomian gland visibility may provide an additional objective method to diagnose MGD. In the present study, we reported two cases of renal cell carcinoma (RCC) diagnosed in pregnant women (Pt) that were submitted to radical nephrectomy, in both cases within the fourth month. The patients, after 13 and 3 years, respectively, did not show evidence of recurrent disease. We performed an immunohistochemical study on RCC specimens in comparison to seven age-matched controls (Cl). The panel of antibodies included Ki-67, p53, bcl-2, ER, PgR, PCNA, and IGF-1. We describe a difference in the expression of p53 and Ki-67. Abstract Objective: This study examined outcome differences of 109 obese subjects, who participated in a 10-week cognitive-behavioral inpatient treatment followed by either a weight maintenance program or a follow-up period without professional support. The comparative validity of six operational diagnoses of major depression was evaluated in 600 psychiatric inpatients using the independently assessed clinical ICD-9 diagnoses as a yardstick. Agreement with, and positive predictive value for the ICD-9 categories of pure (endogenous and psychogenic) depression served as validation criteria; sensitivity of major depression diagnoses for detecting ICD-9 bipolar depressions was additionally used for examining the adequacy of width, time and exclusion criteria of the competing operational definitions.
