Digital orthophotos at a scale of 1:5000 from high resolution satellite images
2004
This paper describes the first results of a study, carried out within the national research program “Cofin2001”, on the potential use of high resolution satellite images for making digital orthophotos at a scale of 1:5000 and 1:10,000. Particularly, images from IKONOS II and QuickBird of four different types of areas were employed: the first area is the city of Palermo, a greatly urbanized area; the second area is the extra-urban territory near the town of Contessa Entellina in south-western Sicily; the third area is the famous tourist resort of Scopello, in the western Sicily; the last area is the Caselle Airport, a flat zone near Torino. The first three images were orthorectified by using…
I ‘‘diritti dell’interessato’’ nel Regolamento generale sulla protezione dei dati personali
2019
The essay analyzes the Regulation EU 2016/679 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data and it pursues the specific goal of providing a unitary reading of the so-called rights of the data subject, whose is proposed a framing as a set of powers, faculties and remedies intended to make up the content of the unitary right of the protection of personal data. The examination of these individual subjective prerogatives allows us to better define the extent and nature of the right of the protection of personal data, also in order to test the consistency of the discipline contained in the Regulation with the proclaimed …
Numerical Model of THz sources and detectors based on Optical Rectification and Electro-Optic Sampling
2013
A model describing a laser based set-up for wideband THz generation and detection is presented. Particular attention is focused on the main broadband phenomena, which occur when THz radiations have to be handled.
A redox-sensitive nanofluidic diode based on nicotinamide-modified asymmetric nanopores
2017
[EN] We demonstrate a redox-sensitive nanofluidic diode whose ion rectification is modulated by the oxidation and reduction of chemical moieties incorporated on its surface. To achieve this goal, we have first synthesized the chemical compounds 1-(4-aminobutyl)-3-carbamoylpyridin-1-ium (Nic-BuNH2) and 3-carbamoyl-1-(2,4-dinitrophenyl)pyridinium (Nic-DNP). Then, the surface of track-etched single asymmetric nanopores is decorated with the redox-sensitive Nic-BuNH2 and Nic-DNP molecules using carbodiimide coupling chemistry and Zincke reaction, respectively. The success of the modification reactions is monitored through the changes in the current¿voltage (I¿V) curves prior to and after pore f…
Spatio-temporal Characteristics of THz Emission at the Subwavelength Scale via Optical Rectification
2011
Highly localized THz emission via optical rectification in thin nonlinear crystals is a promising method for subwavelength microscopy. We present here the peculiar THz spatio-temporal characteristics induced by the non-paraxial generation regime.
AN APPROACH TO CORRECTING IMAGE DISTORTION BY SELF CALIBRATION STEREOSCOPIC SCENE FROM MULTIPLE VIEWS
2012
International audience; An important step in the analysis and interpretation of video scenes for recognizing scenario is the aberration corrections introduced during the image acquisition in order to provide and correct real image data. This paper presents an approach on distortion correction based on stereoscopic self calibration from images sequences by using a multi-camera system of vision (network cameras). This approach for correcting image distortion brings an elegant and robust technique with good accuracy. Without any knowledge of shooting conditions, the camera's parameters will be estimated. For this, the image key points of interest are extracted from different overlapping views …
Rectifications optique et thermique générées à l'aide de jonctions tunnel planaires électromigrées
2017
The work described in this manuscrit consists in studying the optical rectification within plasmo-electronic devices. These ultra-compact optically adressed components with an ultra-fast time response induces a conversion of the incident field into a static current. The monolithically-integrated electronically optical antenna requires a detailed knowledge of nanoscale thermal and electrical transport mechanisms. This work also aims to discuss all thermal effects inherent in the optical excitation of these connected devices, in order to identify the different contributions in the generation of a photo-assisted current.
Optical force rectifiers based on PT-symmetric metasurfaces
2018
We introduce here the concept of optical force rectifier based on parity-time symmetric metasurfaces. Directly linked to the properties of non-Hermitian systems engineered by balanced loss and gain constituents, we show that light can exert asymmetric pulling or pushing forces on metasurfaces depending on the direction of the impinging light. This generates a complete force rectification in the vicinity of the exceptional point. Our findings have the potential to spark the design of applications in optical manipulation where the forces, strictly speaking, act unidirectionally. A NEW PHOTOGRAMMETRIC LAYOUT OF CAMERA STATIONS: A CASE STUDY
2015
This paper describes an easy and low cost photogrammetric method to determine the height of a point in relation to a reference plane. Such a method consists of an innovative geometric layout of the camera stations and specific algorithms. It is applicable to architectural surveying, in particular when the surface to be surveyed present a definitive geometry, with clearly identifiable defined points. The effectiveness of this method was verified through a case study carried out with the use of a digital camera and three dimensional targets. Two different pairs of images were obtained. One pair consists of images taken with a 35 mm and 19 mm focal length; the other one consists of images take…
Fabrication of Single Cylindrical Au-Coated Nanopores with Non-Homogeneous Fixed Charge Distribution Exhibiting High Current Rectifications
2014
We have designed and characterized a cylindrical nanopore that exhibits high electrochemical current rectification ratios at low and intermediate electrolyte concentrations. For this purpose, the track-etched single cylindrical nanopore in polymer membrane is coated with a gold (Au) layer via electroless plating technique. Then, a non-homogeneous fixed charge distribution inside the Au-coated nanopore is obtained by incorporating thiol-terminated uncharged poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAM) chains in series to poly(4-vinyl pyridine) (PVP) chains, which are positively charged at acidic pH values. The functionalization reaction is checked by measuring the current–voltage (I–V) curves prior …
