Electrochemical modifications of proteins: disulfide bonds reduction

International audience; Electrochemical reduction of lysozyme disulfide bonds was achieved at pH between 10 and 11.Below pH 10, no disulfide bond cleavage was observed. At pH higher than 12, the cleavage of disulfide bonds is essentially due to hydrolysis. The addition of denaturant considerably enhanced the performance of the electrochemical device.

Oxidative stability of virgin olive oil: evaluation and prediction with an adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS).

Background An adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) was employed to predict the oxidative stability of virgin olive oil (VOO) during storage as a function of time, storage temperature, total polyphenol, α-tocopherol, fatty acid profile, ultraviolet (UV) extinction coefficient (K268 ), and diacylglycerols (DAGs). Results The mean total quantities of polyphenols and DAGs were 1.1 and 1.9 times lower in VOOs stored at 25 °C than in the initial samples, and the mean total quantities of polyphenols and DAGs were 1.3 and 2.26 times lower in VOOs stored at 37 °C than in the initial samples, respectively. Recent neuroimaging evidence suggest that there exists a unique individual-specific functional connectivity (FC) pattern consistent across tasks. The objective of our study is to utilize FC patterns to identify an individual using a supervised machine learning approach. A psychological flexibility -based intervention for burnout : A randomized controlled trial

A novel eight-week program based on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) principles was created to alleviate burnout-related ill-being and to enhance well-being. This randomized controlled trial investigated the effectiveness of the program and explored whether changes in psychological flexibility mediated the results of the intervention. Groups of users, sometimes referred to as clusters, have been exploited in several works to enhance wireless communications. Leveraging on previous ideas, the main goal of this paper is to take advantage of vehicle grouping in order to reduce uplink signaling in fifth generation (5G) vehicular communications.
