Measuring the gender wage gap : a methodological note

We propose to estimate the Blinder-Oaxaca decomposition by a single-equation model augmented with interactions between the group membership and other predictors. The relative importance of predictors on the discriminatory wage gap is examined by the interaction coefficients, which may lead to very different conclusions than the usual percentage calculations using the detailed decomposition method. Comparisons are made between the traditional interpretations and those suggested here using wage data from Finland. In their article, Yuan and Deng argue that a structural parameter under partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) is zero if and only if the same structural parameter is zero under covariance-based structural equation modeling (CB-SEM). Yuan and Deng then conclude that statistical tests on individual structural parameters assessing the null hypothesis of no effect can achieve the same purpose in CB-SEM and PLS-SEM. The aim was to describe longitudinal trends in peak oxygen uptake (VO2peak) among 14- to 19-year-old adolescents in Norway, and to examine effects of sex, body mass index (BMI), and physical activity (PA) level on VO2peak during adolescence. Of 124 invited students from two lower secondary schools in Norway, 116 eighth-grade students (61 boys and 55 girls; 14 years old at baseline) volunteered to participate. Magnitude comparison skills have been related to mathematics competence, although results in this area vary. The current study aimed to describe the performance of 75 children (aged 4-5 years) in two comparison tasks; and examine the strength of the relationship between each of the two tasks and mathematics competence level (MCL). Participants were assessed with the Early Numeracy Test which provides a global MCL score. Šī pētījuma mērķis ir uzsvērt ES un ASV tirdzniecības dinamiku un paredzēt tās gaidāmos scenārijus. Metodoloģija ietver teorētisko un empīrisko analīzi. Pārbaudot tirdzniecības ietekmējošos faktorus, tiek sadalītas OLS regresijas no tirdzniecības smaguma modeļa, lai pārbaudītu šādus piecus mainīgos: TTIP sarunu process, IKP uz vienu iedzīvotāju, kopējā zemes platība, FDI un kopīgā valoda. Kopējais novērojums ir 308, aptverot ES-28 un ASV laikposmā no 2009. līdz 2019. gadam.
