Following short-term culture, Langerhans cells mature morphologically and functionally into potent immunostimulatory cells. As regulation of gene expression accompanies this maturation process, it is likely that differentially expressed genes are involved in the maturation events. Using the recently described method of differential display, we generated cDNA expression patterns starting with mRNA of murine epidermal Langerhans cells isolated either directly (fLC) or following 3 d cultivation (cLC). According to a recurring lesson, the vocabulary of regulation would be of late introduction in the law language. Indeed, law professors substantiate this theory, conveyed by the sociologists : this word family would have first been introduced by the social sciences at the end of the XIXth century, before any use by the world of law. Išēmiska prekondicionēšana (IPC) ir terapeitiska stratēģija, lai samazinātu išēmijas radītus bojājumus. Išēmiskie bojājumi ir šūnu bojājumi, ko izraisa nepietiekama skābekļa piegāde. Pētījuma mērķis bija noskaidrot vienas rokas intermitētas išēmijas ietekmi uz sirds ritma variabilitāti un otras rokas mikrocirkulāciju ādā. Tika izvirzīta hipotēze, ka vienas rokas intermitēta išēmija izraisa otras rokas ādas mikrocirkulācijas lokālo regulatoro mehānismu aktivitātes izmaiņas. In this study, we examined self-regulatory efficacy and sources of self-efficacy (mastery experiences, vicarious experiences, social persuasion and physiological/emotional states) and the relationships between self-efficacy and its sources among elementary school pupils. Two groups were compared: a population sample (PS, N = 1284) and pupils with difficulties in attention and executive functions (AED, N = 61). Data gathered from self-report questionnaires indicated that pupils in the PS group had more positive efficacy beliefs and mastery experiences and fewer negative physiological/emotional states than the AED group. The ability of regulatory T cells (Tregs) to promote immunological tolerance represents an important obstacle in cancer immunotherapy. We have recently discovered that the clinically established immunotherapeutic agent interferon α (IFNα) inactivates the suppressive functions of human Tregs. Here, we outline the mechanisms whereby IFNα mediates this important function and discuss its therapeutic implications for cancer immunotherapy.
