There are many areas where Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) can offer innovative solutions for environmental monitoring applications and the meteorological community, but due to their complexity in terms of energy constraints and low performance devices, very few real deployments can be found. This paper aims to test a method for estimating daily values of atmospheric turbidity from non-specialized data, such as those obtained from agro-meteorological stations. This method allows estimating the spatial and temporal evolution of aerosols concentration in more places than just those in which direct measurements are available. This paper reports an investigation of a complex solid state phase transition where two inter-converting polymorphs (X and A) of the pharmaceutical molecule xylazine hydrochloride formed and transformed during and after the dehydration of its monohydrate (H). The crystal structures of all three forms were compared. During the investigation of this solid state phase transition it was determined that the dehydration of H produced either a pure X form, or a mixture of the X and A forms. The phase composition depended on the sample preparation procedure and the experimental conditions. Abstract Water barrier properties of three treated papers and of one plastic film were compared and the potential of these packaging films to prevent moisture loss from a sponge cake during storage in standard conditions (25 °C and 50% relative humidity gradient) was evaluated. Sorption isotherms were established at 25 °C for both sponge cake and papers, from which diffusivity values in papers were determined for the whole range of A w .
