The Mystery of Marriage: Mystery of Human Love Crowned in Glory and Honour. An Orthodox Perspective

2018

Abstract The Mystery of Marriage has always been understood by the Eastern Orthodox as a divinely mandated holy act, in which the grace of the Holy Spirit is communicated to the affianced man and woman, whose natural bond of love becomes thus elevated to the state of representation of the all-encompassing spiritual union between Christ and His Church. According to the patristic tradition, the service of the Mystery of Marriage invariably took place during the Liturgy and within the Eucharistic context. It was through the blessing of the bishop that the espousal love merged with the love of Christ–the true source and power of all human affection, and only then could the two become one single…

Des Vertus et du roi : relectures d'une iconographie du gouvernement : France-Italie, XIIIe-XVIIe siècles

2019

My doctoral work in the history of medieval art unfolds from a multistep process. Based on the initial finding pertaining to the pervasive use of an iconography of Virtues in the Middle Ages, something specific emerged: its presence in sites of government, as well as its common association with the powerful, be it in the civic or religious spheres. The powerful encompasses here individuals representing various types of government existing during the medieval era in the western world. These are kings, princes, members of royal families, religious and lay dignitaries, as well as tyrants and, on the other end of the spectrum, representatives of local governments. All these characters are surro…

Analysis of the Contribution of ICT to Cultural and Religious Tourism

2019

The rise of new technologies in society have contributed to increase the tourism experience and caused changes in tourist behavior, while contributing to the acquisition of knowledge about the visited spaces, in general, and specifically to the religious tourist. Mobile technology with context-aware applications is relevant to supporting the religious tourist in their decision-making process, which in general includes searching, processing, and using information to solve problems. The methodology involved the development of a questionnaire with the objective of analyzing the influence of the use of personal technology on the religious tourism experience of places and culture in Valencia. Post-Secular Identity? Developing a New Approach to Religion in International Relations and IR Studies

2021

In spite of the increasing presence of religion in international relations with various publications observing this presence and numerous authorities calling for the inclusion of religion into mainstream research, there is no universal consent to recognize religion’s role in IR. In our opinion, the only way to reconcile IR with the international reality in which religion has been and will remain present in the foreseeable future is for the researchers themselves to construct—especially those oriented towards broad, non-Western perspective—a new face of the discipline, the face which in this article we call the post-secular identity of IR study. Assuming that identity is first and foremost a…

Religioznyj âzyk v Internete

2020

In the modern world, against the development of new information technologies, there has been a religion that is entering the field of the Internet. And the world's religions must reckon with this process. Despite the fact that the presence of various religious institutions in virtual reality is not always the same and the attitude to this phenomenon is ambiguous, religious Internet communication, religious Internet discourse are already an established fact, which has been studied by numerous studies of Russian and Polish linguists. In religious language, as in the entire universum of language, there is a genre differentiation. The religious language of the Internet is also not free of this.…
