The intrinsic characteristics of capillary electrophoresis have made this technique a powerful tool in the chiral separation field. The present paper deals with the enantiomeric separation of oxprenolol enantiomers by affinity electrokinetic chromatography-partial filling technique using human serum albumin (HSA) as chiral selector. Several experimental conditions and variables affecting the separation such as pH, HSA concentration and plug length, background electrolyte concentration, temperature and voltage were studied. [ES] Este artículo pretende establecer criterios para delimitar de modo riguroso qué es lo que constituye un territorio rural o urbano, dadas las limitaciones de las metodologías tradicionales. En segundo lugar, se propone una tipología rural/urbana a escala municipal para España tomando en consideración tres criterios: la demografía —combinando densidades con umbrales mínimos de población— la información sobre coberturas y usos del suelo y el grado de accesibilidad desde el mundo rural a las ciudades. El resultado es el establecimiento de seis tipos distintos de municipios.

Abstract Let A be the set of all equivalent norms on l 1 which satisfy the FPP. We prove that A contains rays. In fact, every renorming in l 1 which verifies condition (⁎) in Theorem 2.1 is the starting point of a (closed or open) ray composed by equivalent norms on l 1 with the FPP. The standard norm ‖ ⋅ ‖ 1 or P.K. Linʼs norm defined in Lin (2008) [12] are examples of such norms. Moreover, we study some topological properties of the set A with respect to some equivalent metrics defined on the set of all norms on l 1 equivalent to ‖ ⋅ ‖ 1 .

Rigidity transition in two-dimensional random fiber networks

Rigidity percolation is analyzed in two-dimensional random fibrous networks. The model consists of central forces between the adjacent crossing points of the fibers. Two strategies are used to incorporate rigidity: adding extra constraints between second-nearest crossing points with a probability p(sn), and "welding" individual crossing points by adding there four additional constraints with a probability p(weld), and thus fixing the angles between the fibers. These additional constraints will make the model rigid at a critical probability p(sn)=p(sn)(c) and p(weld)=p(weld)(c), respectively.
