International audience; Nous montrons que les systèmes fibrés présentent des caractéristiques remarquables pour la génération et le contrôle d'impulsions rares et intenses similaires aux vagues scélérates océaniques. En particulier, l'amplificateur Raman faiblement dispersif pompé par une onde incohérente a permis de mettre en évidence l'apparition d'ondes scélérates optiques. Un bon accord théorie - expérience est observé.

Yttrium aluminium garnet (YAG, Y3Al5O12) transparent ceramics have attracted much attention since it can replace single crystals as host materials in solid state heat capacity lasers. These polycrystalline ceramics present improved mechanical and spectroscopic properties, as well as a better heat conductivity, lower fabrication costs for larger size materials. Furthermore, it is possible to reach higher doping concentrations as well a uniform distribution. Doping YAG with Erbium (Er:YAG) allows eye-safe emission at 1645nm. 3D acquisition system for transparent objects

This thesis deals with a new automated tridimensional inspection system for transparent surfaces, based on polarization analysis. We first present an extension of the ‘Shape from Polarization’ method for transparent surfaces. After being reflected, an unpolarized light wave becomes partially linearly polarized, depending on the surface normal and on the refractive index of the media it impinges on. Hence, by measuring the polarization parameters of the reflected light, the surface normals are computed. Fiber-based light source for biomedical applications

This manuscript presents the work done concerning the development of a light source used for biomedical imaging and more particularly for coherent Raman scattering imaging. In fact an efficient broadcasting of these ones is hampered by the need of two synchronized and wavelength shifted pulses. As so, the handiness and frequency conversion capabilities of nonlinear fiber optics are used to circumvent this technological lock. First of all, an easy wavelength tunable source is set by the use of the self-shifting in optical frequency of a soliton. Originada en el ámbito económico y administrativo, la teoría de las contingencias es otra visión con la que observar el mundo del rendimiento deportivo. Esta tesis es un compendio de tres artículos en el que se analizan algunas contingencias que podrían influenciar a los jugadores de baloncesto en edades formativas. Tēmas aktualitāti autore pamato ar faktu, ka šī tēma joprojām Latvijā nav pietiekami pētīta, nav pētījumu, kā nodrošināt drošu un kvalitatīvu parenterālās barošanas saņemšanu slimnīcā un mājās, kā arī kā uzlabot šo pacientu dzīves kvalitāti. Empīriskā pētījuma pamatā tika izmantota kvalitatīvā pētniecības metode – daļēji strukturētas intervijas. Pētījumā piedalījās 7 medicīnas māsas, kas strādā kādā no Rīgas daudzprofilu medicīnas iestādēm, kurā ārstējas bērni. Pielietojot pētījuma instrumentu, tika intervētas medicīnas māsas, apkopoti un analizēti iegūtie dati un izdarīti secinājumi.
