AbstractA survey of the gastrointestinal helminth communities of a population of Chalcides sexlineatus Steindachner, a small skink endemic to Gran Canaria island (Canary Archipelago, Spain), was conducted to determine the prevalence, abundance and species diversity of intestinal parasites in these reptiles. Only three parasite species were found, one cestode, Oochoristica agamae Baylis, 1919 and two nematodes, Parapharyngodon micipsae (Seurat, 1917) and Pharyngodonidae gen. sp. Abstract In contrast to oceanic, continental islands are expected to show less diversification and endemism and thus phylogeographic signatures of multiple colonization events from adjacent continents due to episodic connections by sea level changes. Tutkielmassani käsittelen Kristillisen Työväen Liiton politiikasta vetäytymistä. Liitto otti osaa poliittisena puolueena vuosien 1907-1919 eduskuntavaaleihin saavuttaen enimmillään kaksi samanaikaista kansanedustajan paikkaa. Valtakunnan politiikasta vetäytymisen jälkeen liitto jatkoi toimintaansa valistus- ja evankeliointijärjestönä. Kristillinen Työväen Liitto sai alkunsa vuonna 1906 sosialidemokraattisessa työväenliikkeessä omaksutun ateismin vastustamisesta ja kirkollisten piirien halusta suitsia radikaaliksi muuttunutta työväenliikettä.
