Abstract Though geographically distant from each other, Portugal and Finland present an interesting comparison concerning the policies and devices of asylum. Both provide an informed and critical appraisal of the current international response to the refugee issue, especially considering the European Union. Artykuł jest próbą nakreślenia obrazu ludności Górnego Śląska w latach 1950–1989, jaki udało się odtworzyć na podstawie wybranych materiałów źródłowych, pochodzących z polskich i niemieckich archiwów. Uwaga opracowania skupiona jest przy tym na problemie różnic w postrzeganiu ludności Górnego Śląska przez polskie i niemieckie władze (Republiki Federalnej Niemiec). Les politiques de control de fronteres s’han anat consolidant, convertint Europa i l’Estat espanyol en una mena de fortalesa a la qual cada vegada es mes dificil penetrar, i per tant accedir al procediment d’asil. El govern espanyol prioritza la que denominen «lluita contra la migracio irregular» front al compliment dels compromisos que com a Estat, ha signat en materia de Drets Humans, vulnerant aixi el dret al asil i a la Proteccio Internacional recollit, entre d’altres, en la Convencio de Ginebra sobre l’estatut de les persones refugiades.

En este articulo se analizan, a partir de los microdatos de la Estadística de Variaciones Residenciales del período 1988-2001, las características demográficas y los patrones espaciales de las migraciones internas de la población extranjera en España. Entre los principales resultados de este trabajoso destacan: una mayor intensidad migratoria de los extranjeros con relación a los españoles; los extranjeros muestran una gran diversidad de patrones migratorios cuando se consideran diferentes nacionalidades. The conflict in Northern Uganda is recognized as having come to an end with the signing of a cessation of hostilities agreement between the Lord’s Resistance Army and the Government of Uganda in August 2006, which resulted in improved security. Estimates suggest that the majority of the displaced populations have left their camps and moved either to transit sites near farms or to their village of origin. Much research has been done on the living conditions of women in the Ugandan IDP camps yet very little has been written on the situation for women who return home or resettle after the camp.
