Overview of the pediatric healthcare system in Romania.

Until 1989, Romania was one of the countries of the communist bloc in Europe and its healthcare system was characterized by centralized planning and severe underfunding, with low performance and low quality healthcare. Since 1998, Romania replaced the Semashko model with a social health insurance system, highly centralized under the management of the Ministry of Health as the central administrative authority. After joining the European Union, quality of life increased in our country and there were efforts to improve the quality of healthcare, including pediatric and neonatal care. Abstract The incidence and mortality due to malignancies are increasing in Romania. Since 2001, Romania provides the public support for cancer patients through the National Programme for Cancer (NPC). Using documentary analysis, the present paper provides a longitudinal and comprehensive examination of all the policy documents issued during 2001 and 2016 within the programme, and of the five implementation reports available. The paper examines several press articles as a sole source for exploring implementation difficulties. The most important asset of any organisation or country is its reserve of human resource. The capacity of society to understand and successfully adapt to new situations is highly related to the levels of training and education of its individual members. The education system, therefore, is one of the main foundations of any society's future. Over the last decade, Spain and the Valencia region, in particular, have experienced precipitous drops in fertility that will inevitably reduce school enrolments. In this paper we quantify the magnitude of the reductions and, after some analysis, lay out the potential consequences for the regional education system, and for society as a whole.

Abstract We use the PISA 2006 results to analyse students’ proficiency in EU countries with regard to two indexes that represent the home background, viz the educational resources available at home and the family background of students. However, many factors affect proficiency and therefore, using a DEA-bootstrap, we intend to measure the efficiency of the European educational systems as capability to ensure high students’ competencies despite adverse conditions about the educational resources available at home and the family background. This paper explores the micro-level process of adjustment undergone by rural migrants to the city. Rural migrants are expected to fully adjust to the urban lifestyle, setting aside their traditions and culture. However, as the migrant population increases in an urban area, migrants create their own communities with their own lifestyles and values, and thus there is an ongoing debate about whether this process entails the ruralisation of the city or the urbanisation of migrants. Developement of the Centers of Vocational Education in Latvia

The purpose of this study was to find impact factors and results of stuctural reforms of vocational education in Latvia. The objective was to find that during 4 years period reforms started as planned, but did not continued planned way. It may impact vocational education of Latvia in future. This study used analysis of 12 documents impacting reforms. One of basic results is creating Centers of Competence of vocational education. Findings are focused on creating factors and results of these centers. Author shows purposes and criterias of reforms, development on time axis, and results and impact factors of creation of the Centers of Vocational Education, gives suggestions for further reforms.
